ok so have been a little stressed out lately, and shed heaps of tears when this first happened - i know a lot of people werent aware of it = and only going to write about it in brief but here goes...(and no I am not pregnant!!!)

I went on mat leave, then went back to another of our companies offices when Ella was 2 months to help them out! WEll for my trouble the boss from my office came over about three weeks ago to inform me that at the end of my mat leave there was no job for me to go back to and i was being made redundant - yes they can do that. My office is no longer doing the work i do and i was offered a job in the albany office in lieu = which they should do. Well Im not going all that way (we live east auck and albany is on nth shore) so am out of a job!

Anyways they then tried to screw me on my pay for a few weeks i was meant to paid for the other office work, and then offered to pay me my holiday pay in sept!!! of course i wont write my response to that here...but basically i said pay me NOW!

anyways now all paid...was quite a bit!!! have been interviewing and having to get DH to look after Ella while i interview etc - and no fun at 4 months post preggy to try and fit a suit so had to borrow a jacket!!!

anyways as of last nite i have a new job (fingers crossed as about to sign on dotted line) and better pay and future than where i left - so all turned out for best BUT OMFG i have been soooo stressed!!!! My hair is much greyer than usual!!!

Sorry to keep from some of you but was dealing with this on my own = and thank you to Katherine for letting me vent big time!!! I feel so much better today knowing my future is back on track...

Wow, nasty BS!!! Am glad everything has worked out (fingers crossed) for the better for you - you'll have to let me know where you're going now!! I'm facing the same circumstances at the end of the year, but at least I've been given a heck of a lot more notice. Congrats on the new job!!

Yay for getting a new job, but no yay for the way they treated you. Have fun on that holiday.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I feel your pain Ro, I got made redundant while I was on mat leave too - the alternative was moving to Hawera

But I'm only just now starting to look for work, and half-assed at that... so glad to hear things look to be working out for you !!

the new job is closer to home which is good.
I start towards the end of Aug which is perfect as i can settle ella into daycare well and truly, and I now feel a lot less guilty about going to oz and spending money that we may have otherwise needed to save if i hadnt have found a job!

a heads up that it was a possibility of redundnacy would have been nice pre mat leave but they didnt even give me that - and i kinda feel used for going back and helpling them out when I could have been sitting on my butt at home...some thanks huh? oh well....

I just couldnt bring myself to vent on here at the time...so sorry if i ignored any questions re work etc or refused to tell anyone what Katherine and Emma and i were talking about (Deb (GandT) this was it!!!)

Kate - will keep u posted no worries there!

I'm glad it's working itself out BS, but what a load to carry in the meantime

Possibly the stress has also helped keep AF away ...?

I'm also glad that the new situation is better for you, and Ella and BSDH as well - I hope you're really happy in your new job and you sooo deserve your holiday!

Now, go and see Terry - he will make all grey hair go away!

P.S. We all understand the need to seek specific support from time to time - we're just glad it's all becoming OK for you.

So sorry that you had all that stress chick but glad that it seems that things have worked and are working themselves out for you, Ella and BSDH. That does really $uck the way that they went about doing things though - after you took your 8 week old baby in to work to help them out!! Some thanks I agree.

Hugs though. Hope you REALLY enjoy your holiday now.
