Awww, some lovely stories...
Daniel and I apparently first met at primary school badminton, but I dont remember him. Then in third form we were in the same class and I had the hots for him then! lol Were in the same class for fourth form as well and by then were quite good friends. By fifth form were really good friends (I told him all my BF problems!). At our high school ball at the end of that year, I was very disappointed cos he asked one of my friends to go, and I went with another of our friends. At the after ball party (that took a lot of persuasion to be allowed to go) we finally kissed (my first, ha ha ) and then the next day we officially got together. Lasted about 3 months over summer, then he broke up with me and went out with a friend. He was witha few gf's that year and I had one for about a year. By seventh form we were mates again (had every class together that year!) and back to me moaning about my ex and how much I wanted to get back with him. After several months of badgering me about how much he liked me etc (I didnt want to start anything cos I knew I was moving to Auckland for uni the next year) I was finally persuaded! We had been going to parties and stuff together as freinds and we could talk for hours (still can actually), so it was a really easy relationship to start with. Six months later I moved to Auckland and he stayed here, which was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but we stayed together the whole time with lots of visits both ways. Second year he transferred to Auckland and we have been living together ever since. Last week it was 8 years since we got together in seventh form, and we have been married for 2.5 years.
It gives me such warm fuzzies thinking about it all and how much I love my lovely husband Another long rambling story...

We don't have a very interesting story.
I was at school struggling to stay, he was at home either drunk or you know not quite with it. (upon reflection what did I find interesting about a stoned or drunk man?) My GF lived with a guy who grew up with him so they were always together. I went to a party with my GF he was outside with his crate and I was inside being chatted up by some random. The next week GF and I went to some production, I had to pick her up from his place and just happened to be weary some nice skimpy clothes (which I could do at a size 8 HA those days!) Next day GF & DP came over to watch league....which I am not a big fan of, but he came too. We mucked around a bit from then on....
We have been together 11 years married for 1 month and have the most amazing son together.
I would not change our lives or the paths we have choosen to take together.

Well, I tried the nzdating thing after I broke up with my bf of five years(ended messy he cheated on me grrrr B*stard) and after that I was single for ages!(thats when I tried nzdating, I nearly met up with one guy but changed my mind.
Then I met my brothers friend And we hit it off, hes younger than me, hehe my toyboy!!! hehe but nah I dont see him as being younger than me, hes the only guy who had treated me like I deserve to be treated he is a gem and I love him to bits! It was hard for us to start with cos my brother wasnt happy about me dating his friend and some people looked down on me cos he is younger than me, but age is only a number and when u click with someone thats all that matters.
We are now engaged and trying for our first baby

I met DH 7 years ago. I had a friend who liked to live vicariously through me so would set me up with guys she liked so strange. Anyway one night she asked me to come over to her Bfs brothers house and turned out she was trying to set me up with this guy she knew from our uni. He was a t**ser but I really hit it off with his friend. We became really good friends- would talk on the phone/text heaps and always met up for drinks. He would crash at my house lots but nothing ever happened.
I dated other guys and we were just mates. I always has a bit of a thing for him but not major- then he got a girlfriend and I was sooooo jealous! Drove me mad. She ended it and we slept together not long after that- told him I didn't want to ruin our friendship so unless he wanted a proper go of it then I wasn't just going to 'fool around' with him, would rather just be friends than risk ruining it. He wanted some time to think and a month later he very cheesily asked me out. We've now been together 5 years- married for 1 1/2 with 2 kiddies.

I'll tell 2 stories because they link together ...
My ex, and bestest buddy ol' pal - I met in a bar. My now SIL had dragged me up to Ohakune for a weekend away, and there was a rugby game on at one of the local bars. At least I think it was rugby. It was an important game ... world cup maybe?
Anyway, just before kick off (seriously, JUST before kick off) the power through the whole of Ohakune went down. Since my SIL and other friends we went with had left children at home (supervised ) they left to check on them, leaving me, alone, at a bar in the dark. So, I started talking to the random bloke who'd planted himself next to me at the bar, and then when the lights came up, turned out he was 6'5" and completely gorgeous ... and the rest is history. I moved to Auckland for him, and that was ... holy hell ... 10 years ago. Me, him, and the rest of the crew he was with that night are still good friends, and in fact, 2 of the other guys he was with that night are beyond good friends - they're family, the whole lot of them.
Anyway, through the ex, I met another guy who I was with for a year, though he was so many different versions of evil it wasn't funny and I won't tell that story. BUT he played rugby, and on that rugby team was ANOTHER guy who it turns out was my perfect match. We ran in the same circles spasmodically for about a year, and then things finally came to a head with evil guy and I decided to pursue he who is now DH. Not that he was difficult to catch, because I'm sooo fab
And that's the story of me and DH.
Had I never met the random bloke at the bar (which I hadn't wanted to go to in the first place, but was dragged to by SIL), I'd be down several dearly loved friends, and one very special DH. I don't much believe in fate, but the way that night in the bar played out, it makes you think. The funny thing was that my SIL wasn't impressed with random bloke and dragged me out of the bar into another one ... where random bloke turned up a few minutes later with his group, so I got dragged out of there to somewhere else, where they turned up again. Then, I got dragged home, but the next day we stopped for some lunch before heading back to P Nth ... and who was there?

cool stories everyone , i love reading them
Me and my DP met through friends, I was hooking up with his former friend and flatmate, who also happened to be my friends ex, they broke up 3 years ago but they did go out for 5years and my friend still doesnt know anything happened...im not proud of this btw, anyway he started being a real jerk, but me and DP could talk for hours and had heaps in common, but i only saw him as a friend, after things ended with the other guy he was really supportive and we'd go to the movies and stuff, but just as friends, i liked having a guy friend, and he said he wasnt ready for a relationship so i was like, sweet, least i get to be your mate, cos i really enjoyed his company.
Anyway, one night i decided he was to come over and i would make him watch greys anatomy, because well, i love it lol and my friend who was on a visit from england rang and was bitching about her boyfriend who she just found out had been cheating on her and she asked me to ask Phil why men were such bastards, I cant remember what he replied but that was the first time i looked at him and thought, wow, your really kinda cute.
Then a few nights later he came over to watch dvds, and we watched Jeepers Creepers, and he said something about american cars not being able to turn corners, and cos i was more interested in getting him to make a move on me, i said "really?" so he thought i was a bit thick lol, i sat with him, like right next to him as if it was the most normal thing in the world and kept turning my head reeeeallly close to his, oh kelly, how subtle, and he finally got the hint and kissed me, then we moved to my bedroom (cos dad wanted to watch tv in the lounge) but apart from him staying the whole night nothing major happened cos he didnt want to rush into anything and wasnt sure how he felt about me having caitlyn etc, which i appreciated cos at least he was honest.
Then the next weekend we went out with a group and i saw my bestfriends younger sister who ive known all my life and the week before her boyfriend had been killed in the incident last october where the guy drove through a crowd on pakuranga highway, anyone remember it? another girl died too, and yeah just seeing how heart broken she was and the whole sucky situation made me really down, and he was really good to me and we ended up sleeping together that night, tho for awhile i was worried he felt he had to,but he assures me he didnt lol.
That morning caitlyn got dropped home from her paternal nanas and he met her for the first time "are you my mummys new boyfriend?" was all she said, then "did you sleep in my mums bed?"
Fast forward 10months and its going better than ever, hes my best friend, i can tell him everything, he loves caitlyn to bits, she loves him and i cant see it ever ending, he says he wants to marry me one day and im not one for being all day dreamy, im quite a realistic person, but i know with him its a matter of when, not if.
Oh and so far hes remembered every anniversary, and he texts everynight to say goodnight and he loves me, we'll see how long that will last tho......
Oh yeah, will just mention for our 6months he came over and presented me with a box of love potion timtam biscuits and a card (with a very nice message btw) and i was such a prat! " tim tams?...timtams ? is that all you got me? timtams?" etc etc, till looking very bemused he gives me a jewellery box with a locket inside and my name on the front and "love Phil" on the back..."um...thankyou, i love it" i say,"so...did you get me a present?" he asks ," ummmm....want a timtam?" haha

how i met sam.... lol
i got home from work one day and my flatmate asked "do you want to go to the singles party tonight?" i politely declined to which she replied "too bad coz i got you a ticket".
we went round for drinks at her friends house and sam was there. apparently i walked out of the room to get a drink and he asked my flatmate "ooooh, what's that" (what's that???) she said "that's ella, she's nice, leave her alone". or course now that sam had been told he wasn't allowed me, he had to haveme, and here we are .
