Hi There,

Just wondering what other people experiences were in applying for the childcare subsidy? I applied 3 weeks ago and it is still being processed and WINZ are unable to give me any word as to when it will be processed. I would have thought it would have been processed long ago and in the meantime I have to pay the full price - sure will be nice to be in credit when it finally is processed though!

Have you phoned them? They backdate to the day you rang to the centre and you wont have to pay for ages :)

Aww!!! I'm waiting for my birth certificate to come almost been 2 weeks - and then looks like I'll be waiting weeks and weeks for the subsidy!!! How slow do the clogs turn?

Kandice - yep I got all my papers in and have rung 3 times (once a week lol) and they are still processing. Unfortunately I have to pay the full price untill the subsidy comes through but once it does my account will be credited. So so far its been 3 weeks since I took all my docs in :) My advice is get in real quick cos they take 4eva!

it may be different for me bcos im in a much smaller town but mine started within a week!! i just had to hand in the forms (no appointment) with all the needed documents and then a guy rung me to tell me it was all go and to see if theres anything else they could help me with!!! i was very impressed!!!!

I think ours took about a month. I would pay right at the very end of each weeks to give it the most time to come through lol

Im in Tauranga, I rang they sent forms I dropped them in (no appointment) it was approved that day and I had letter from them 2 days later.

omigosh just rang WINZ for the 100th time - they just told me that they have lost my application. They have all of the supporting docs but no form!!! So now I have to fill in another one and start all over - I am so very pissed off as it has taken more than 3 weeks already and now it is goingto take even longer! So annoying!
