I find this rather embarrasing, my 17th month has just started this weird thing, that she humps her toy cow... not sure why she is doing it... my husband laughs and she thinks it is a joke, while I am freaking out in the corner!! Is it a phase?? hope so, I am not sure where she has got it from!!! Help!!

I've heard that little kids often play with their bits as a nervous sign but that's the limit of my experience.

when i taught in Japan, the little kids were always at it! Jake now prefers to go around with no pants on for "easy access". I try to teach him that he can do it, but at home, prefereably in his room - not really for when we visit nana...

We have "mr rubby pants" He likes to rub down there... and he is four. The only rule is that he has to do that in his room.... I'd rather it not be in the lounge room!!! I guess he'll grow out of it....

Jack rolls onto the ball with wee bumps on it and kinda rolls back a fowards on it. There is nothing wrong with it, if you don't really like it you could try teaching her thats what we do in private.

she will grow out of it...its not a sexual thing, just feels good. toby humps on the bed and laughs while doing it. its prob the same to them as shaking their heads or spinning round in circles.

A friend of ours a while back had mentioned this and most girls will sit down and rock on all 4s or hump things because it feels good and is perfectly normal just like when the boys never leave their doodles alone!!! which is also normal!! wev just tried to tell Bay that it is a private thing so he is not to do it in public!

I thinks its normal & all part of growing up & discovery our bodies & what we find pleasurable.
Some of us are happy with our bodies & some of us are exhibitionist.....
Some of us are not so happy with our bodies & hide....
I think as long as the child concerned is made aware(maybe not fully understand, depending on age) it is private stuff to be done in private- but also not something to be considered as "dirty" IYKWIM
