OK I want to start charting to aviod getting pregnant but am not too fussed if it doesn't work. I just want to know my body better. Anyway I have been doing some reading and I have a few questions:
1) Once you get AF back after having bubs does it mean that you are definately ovulating?
2) It says that you need to do your temps after at least 3 hours of sleep and at the same time, So whats more important the same time or the sleep? cos i get up to jack a few times there are times i have 3 hours sleep but it would never be at the same time.
3) It says things are different if you are b/fing what is different? will i still be able to figure out when I o from the charts?
4) possibly TMI but i have very little CM i can't really find much and couldn't describe it so is this part really important?
5) I can't actually feel my cervix is this right or am i probably touching it i just don't know it.

Thanx

1) Are you looking for signs of ovulations like EWCM and cramps? Did you get any signs like this before you got pregnant?
2)Do it after the longest bout of sleep at around the same time every morning.
3)You produce prolactin as a breatfeeding mother so sometimes that means ovulation can be blocked. But I suspect that if you are having 28 - 44 day cycles then the prolactin level has been lowered. Some women are not affected at all!
4) Cervical mucus is important to your cervix, but at the same time very little or watery is also fine (some woman can produce hardly any). It is the egg white cervical fluid and the clear watery stuff that is fertile.
5)Apparently it feels like "the tip of your nose" and you will need to get in a few practice sessions as your cervix changes its position, opening and softness everyday.
There is LOTS of good information available at fertiliy friend, I believe they even run courses as well.
Good Luck!

Nope not always the only simple way to know is through charting.

2) It says that you need to do your temps after at least 3 hours of sleep and at the same time, So whats more important the same time or the sleep? cos i get up to jack a few times there are times i have 3 hours sleep but it would never be at the same time.

I to am charting to prevent pregnancy, as long as you can take your temp within about an hour of the usual time then do so, it is important to have 3 hours sleep minimum and to take your temps at the same time. Perhaps wake yourself at a certain point in the night to temp? Only takes a min if that.

3) It says things are different if you are b/fing what is different? will i still be able to figure out when I o from the charts?

You can always tell if your ovulating when charting this is due to an increase in temps around the time of ovulation they typically are suppose to jump 0.3 degrees but this can vary depending on if u are a slow riser or not.

4) possibly TMI but i have very little CM i can't really find much and couldn't describe it so is this part really important?

It does help determine ovulation but isnt necessary if your not really trying.
In this case i would make sure your taking your temps around the same time after approx 3 hours sleep.

5) I can't actually feel my cervix is this right or am i probably touching it i just don't know it.

If its high soft and open your fertile - will feel like your lips.
If its low closed and firm your not fertile - will feel like the tip of your nose.

Hope that helps
