This is a really yummy recipe!!

1 bag of split peas (think its a 500g bag)
1 leek cut up thinly
2 or 3 potatoes cut up
2 carrots
beef stock to flavour (or you can boil up some soup bones first)

boil it all pretty much for a couple of hours until the peas have gone all mooshy, then cut up some frankfurter sausages and throw them in. Cook more until sausages are cooked then cool it REALLY fast (in the laundry or something).

It doesn't look the most amazing soup, but is SO SO easy and comes out really yummy!!! Would be a super easy recipe to adapt aswell

Looks interesting. Why do you have to cool it really fast? And do you eat it cold? Just a bit puzzled on that bit

Oh no you eat it hot- you could pull out what you want before cooling it, or just heat up bowl fulls in the microwave once its cooled

I just find it goes a bit scummy and has like a skin on top if it doesn't get cooled quickly, if it cools down faster it stays a lot nicer. Sorry I didn't make that very clear did I

I guess you gotta like mooshy peas to like it though Lol.

It's one of my MIL's recipes. And she's a typical dutchie, can make a yummy soup for 10 out of one potato and a parsnip lol!
