Topic: Giving cloth a go! Posted: 20 February 2008 at 8:29pm |
Righty ho I have ordered my first DIY pocket kit from Greenbeans and I am going to give making these cloth nappies a go!
I am angry at how much disposables are costing us
Watch this space, I may be converted to cloth very soon, or shall I say addicted!!

Lol! Good on you! Beware tho, its all too easy to become very addicted!
Disposables ARE so $$$. Isla has only worn the odd disposable when we are away, since she was 5 weeks old,...but the last week shes has a tummy bug,..and man we have spent heaps on disposables,..and I have gone to which ever place had them on special, and bought the cheaper brands too.

Woohoo Peachy!! You won't regret it Cloth bums are the cutest, and mummies love not having to buy disposables in the shopping

woohoo! new converts If you're making them the addiction thing shouldn't be too bad (expense-wise that is) Pockets are so easy! (to use - I can't sew for peanuts!) I don't know why but I'm loving prefolds at the moment, but DF loves pockets and it's nice to have them to go out in (I trust them not to leak more) In fact I have no reason to prefer prefolds. I guess I'm just being weird - or it could be the gorgeous new merino/wool covers I've been getting
Don't forget to make yourself some wipes! Saves having a nice line of nappies... and a stinky bin of poopy sposie wipes that only gets filled once a week! (yuck )
Edited for typos.

I ordered rose PUL and white microfleece! Boring I know, but I am trying to convince my DH that cloth is the way to go and so they have to be super cute on her butt so he'ss be convinced
I am a really good sewer (Mum taught me) and I have her to help, she's an ex-steamstress for Line 7 from years ago and she can sew absolutely anything and everything!
I already use cloth wipes as I hate wetones, they irratate Laurens skin and they cost to much too!
