Ok, big update time.
On thursday the 3rd I came back to the hospital for my induction as bubs was running out of water in my uterus, it was crazily low. I also had "suspected pre-eclampsia" (how long did it take them to work that out huh?).
The induction gel was placed on my cervix at 5.00pm and I was told if all was going well by 9.00pm then I could possibly have my waters broken. Anyway, nursing shifts changed and I got some horrible nurses and doctors who left me in the exam room having minor contractions until 2.00am. I had to walk out and try and find someone to ask about being monitored as I was told I would be monitored every 45 mins to an hour.
Didn't sleep at all. 6.30am Friday 4th arrives and I get the news that I could be induced further. They find I am 4 cm dialated. Another internal was done about 7.30am and things get moving.
Was quite ill during my contractions and got to have an injection of some kind to help. DF took me for a shower in delivery suite about 9.00am, which was nice (I didn't think they would let him climb in with me, but they did). Came out, didn't have time to empty my bowels... as they were hooking me up to every kind of drip / wires possible. They also put bubs on that heart monitoring that is placed on his head.
By this point contractions were crazy and I started howling for an epidural (I'd never really wanted it, but seemed like a great idea). This was about 10.00am, I was told I could have one in 30 mins as the guy who was to do it was in surgery. I was 6cm dialated and told I was doing excellent, despite that I felt like this was going to take forever.
Epidural never came, transition did. By 12.00pm I was asking for a c-section, haha. Started getting the bearing down feeling about 1.00pm. I think I tried to fight it, as I know I was close to delivery but kept wanting to lie on my side to survive. By 2.00pm midwife said "let's do this tara" and I started to really push properly. Thr ring of fire happened, I only allowed 15 seconds of it and pushed Phoenix out.
He was absolutely perfect.
I was left with a 2nd degree tear which needed succhering, and a artery which was pissing blood out everywhere. I had about 4 people trying to watch over the registars shoulder and oohing and ahhing. I missed out on a lil bonding period with my lil man, but daddy got loads of cuddles.
Got told I couldn't be transfered to the birth centre due to the mass amounts of bleeding etc. Told I needed to be in for a night. Stayed, hated the midwives and nurses (didn't get much help with latching or treatment of my stitches etc). Self-discharged myself Saturday evening as I had a really horrible experience.
Stayed home one night, woke with a fever and temp of 34.1 which then in turn shot up to 39.5. Ended up back at the hospital for 2 more nights as I had an infection, not sure where, but placed on antibiotics and an IV drip. By Wednesday I felt heaps better, and was told I would be switched to orals and monitored for a further 2 days in hospital. I broke down in tears and got myself self-discharged.
I had the worst support from the sraff, they were rude and made me feel bad for my delay in colostrum and issues with Phoenix latching. I had 5 hours sleep in 4 days. I felt I could be a mum to my son much better outside of hospital. And now I feel great!
Iron is dead low, I still feel weak. Stitches hurt less, bleeding is coming right down. On about 7 diff tablets every 12 hours and trying my best to breast feed, but have been able to express also. Midwife will be here today as she found out I have Strep A.
Whew, sorry that was so long and winded. I still left loads of stuff out. Thanks to those who spent the time to read it hahaha.

I had loads of issues with the staff, yet I was polite the entire time.
I had IV's that weren't flushed out with saline. I had rude midwives who were pushy about latching, yet couldn't give me the time of day to help. I had pills thrust at me with a "here" and then the women stormed out. I had no idea what I was given / or taking.
No info on how to care for my 2nd degree tear. Loud midwives during the night (my second stay I had a private room and had just got Phee down to sleep as he was stressed and they would clammer and bang around).
I even had a lady try to get the bubbles out of my IV using only a torch for light. They didn't let DF heat up some soup in the wards kitchen (which is accessable to patients and those getting tea etc).
Gah, just glad to be back.

Congratulations Tara on the arrival of your beautiful little man. He's just gorgeous.
Sorry to hear of your tough ordeal, thats so rude of the midwives to treat you that way. I would have ended up in tears and left just as you did
