I am on the search for a Midwive in Christchurch and my GP recommended Barbara Harwood and Dawn Catherwood.

I have been in contact with Barbara and she said she can be my midwive. I have not managed to track down Dawn however I spoke to her close associate Ailsa Black who can also be my midwife.

I now need to choose between Barb and Ailsa. Anyone had either of these who can help me decide?

Barb's my midwife and was my sister's for all 3 of her pregnancies. She comes highly recommended (heard this from several people) and with 30 years experience, I guess you can't go wrong! And, btw, you're pretty lucky to have her - she books up REALLY quickly!

Yip, Barb is extemely popular and is really hard to get into. All the other MW's in the same practise a awesome too so even if you end up with one of her back ups they are just as good as Barb.

Merviale Midwifes are one of the most popular and recommended practises in Christchurch.

My midwife is with Domino Midwives - which has just moved to Worcester St. I see Marion (who is really lovely) and just saw Karen the other day as my backup - who was just as great. Haven't had my baby yet but definately reccommend them so far!!
