my ex-fiance was done for drinking related offences (pretty sure a DUI was on there) he's aussie born, flew over for the 05 BDO, got held up in customs on the way back as it came up with a flag as they just call it a drug related offence in the system. He was held up in there for over an hour trying to explain that it was alcohol and not drugs (he'd never been done for those)

He's a douche bag anyway.

my little brother was done he was 2weeks off being 20 and he was above the youth limit but below the adult limit so was STUPIDELY annoying. He lost his license for 6months and luckily he had enough people around to drive him. He has been accepted to study so it hasn't really affected him at all

I got done last year lost my license for 6 months stupid stupid decision but it hasn't really affected me that much a little while ago I wanted to be a paramedic you do need a clean license so I don't know how I would've gotten on but you can't be a cop with a DIC conviction. I now work in ED in a main hospital and I'm so against even having one drink before driving, it was a good lesson for me.

I did not realise this (I've only been living here for 2 and a bit years)

I am VERY surprised at this...even more surprised because of this article I read last week about a cop that can keep his job even though he was drinking and driving...

so you can't become one if you were once stupid...I guess because they figure you can't be stupid and a cop, you need to be perfect and a role model...
But you can remain one when you drink and drive...? am I the only one that does not get this?

I know...slightly off topic but could not resist...
