Feel like I need this today...these are more pats on the back generally rather than what's happened today.
I am proud of myself for breastfeeding for nearly 8mths now. I spent 4wks battling to breastfeed DS after a tongue tie and his refusing to take it. I expressed for 4wks and ended up with mastitis and was hospitalized and on the day I was about to give up, I tried nipple shields and with Plunket's help - he went on. Now 8mths later, no shields and no problems and looks like I will be breastfeeding till he's 12mths like I wanted to. So yay for me for persevering through that horrible time.
Secondly, I am proud of myself for the bond I have created with DS. It is really special - particularly when we have our little cuddles in bed and he drifts off to sleep in my arms, which he's done since he was a newborn. I feel like we have such a strong connection. And when I'm not managing that well I still find a way to rise above that and care for him, play with him and love him the best I can.
There are plenty of things I'm not proud of but I'm not going to think about them just now
What are things you're proud of about your mothering so far?
