Hi,

I really want to get an iphone but can't really afford one.  Does any one have a cheaper alternative Smartphone that they can recommend?

My partner has a samsung galaxy Y, which is the mini-version of the Galaxy. Has wifi and android, with all the apps etc, but only cost him $179. The camera's really good, but obviously not as good as you'd get from an expensive smartphone.

What sort of things do you want on it?

I think its a great little thing, and will be getting one myself when I need to upgrade.

Also the iphone 5 is coming out soon (DH's work are getting them in October) so that might mean that the 3GS and 4/4S will get cheaper...

Thanks for your replies.  Pumpkino I was thinking the same thing -  I will wait for the 5 to come out and then I might be able to get a 4 if I save my pocket money :)

I use one of the Ideos ones and it's ok, it does what you need. Bit slow but still ok.
