Im a primary school teacher working with 5 year olds in a low decile area, so I get exposed to a lot of sickness. I have come back into teaching in the last couple of months after 2 years at home and since I have been back I have been sick constantly, and badly. I am really struggling with it. I am wondering if anyone has any tips on how to build up your immune system, or if any teachers have been through this and come out the other side?

I have done a bit of research and I have just started taking a zinc, garlic, vitamin c and echinacea supplement, I got some blis k12 throat guard as I keep getting bugs that make me lose my voice, and taking a zinc and b12 supplement. Was considering getting some probiotics as well. But there are so many things to choose from I really don't know.

Any tips? I am also trying to eat as well as possible, fresh meat and veges etc.

I got constantly sick too when I started working in a very busy emergency dept, I think what you are doing is really good, I took a tablet called immunofort which worked really well, but I think just eating really well with good fresh meat and veges and a topup of a good supplement helps. One of the better things you could take is just echinacia as it helps prevent colds etc.
Unfortunately though its getting all this yucky sickness that will build up your immune system in the end. You'll find in a year you will hardly ever be sick.

Elderberry is supposed to work quite well, you can buy it in syrup form, we use it for the kids too.
Honey's supposed to be quite good for sore throats, not just for soothing but it's supposed to have anti-bacterial properties too.
