Don't really know how it works but it's perfectly ok to tummy-sleep, just not always comfy lol! I think bubs is protected a lot by your waters actually.

I asked my MW this also as I love sleeping on my tummy. she said if bubs doesnt like it he/she will let you know and you wont get comfy.

I tend to sleep like you, kinda on the side kinda on my tummy....the recovery position. I find sleeping on my side really uncomfy even with pillows which just annoy the hell out of me.

Would be keen to hear what others think two.

I remember when i was preg with Bay i just couldnt get comfy on my tummy with him at this stage but its still the best position this time round! Plus i do still use a big thick pillow so that my top leg isnt flat on the bed but rather propped up on the pillow, seems more comfy

I was told not to tummy or back sleep, maybe was jsut my mw I had with Haleigh then. But Im sure bubs will let you know if its not comfy, I know this one lets me.
Ive found this pregnancy Ive been having to sleep on the couch propped up with pillows on my back as the side it way to uncomfortable. We bought a new king bed because I got pregs and I ahve hardly slept in it lol

My mw has no issue with me sleeping kinda on my tummy, I can't sleep totally flat on my tummy but on my side and slightly on my tummy. He does give me a good kick if he's not comfy.

I wouldn't worry too much about how you are sleeping. Any sleep is a great thing! You never know what position you are going to wake up in anyway.

My m/w said that your body and/or baby will let you know if you can't sleep on your tummy or back anymore. I am still sleeping on my side/tummy and know when Sam is not happy about it as she will give me a good kick if I am squishing her

I figure you can have the best intentions but who knows what you do in the middle of the night...and surely bubs will tell you if it aint working. I'm sure they want their mummy to rest.....actually no, Im not sure judging from the fact that everytime i woke up last night, peanut was doing a wee dance.

My doc said its OK to kinda lean on my tummy when I'm sleeping on my side. She said shes actually had a few woman who have managed to sleep fully on their tummys (somehow!?) right through and their babies have been fine. So I wouldn't worry about it. Like everyone else said - if bub is that unhappy you will know about it.

Like everyone else said im sure its fine. I was playing with Jack on the bed and forgot I was preg and jumped and landed on my tum and then felt like an idiot for the rest of the day but bubs seems to be fine from the squashing.

I asked my MW about back sleeping yesterday and she said if you are in a position that bubs doesn't like, your body will let you know, otherwise however you sleep is fine. That is great news and I am sure I slept better last night because I wasn't worried about waking on my back for the first time in ages!

I seemed to get booted the minute I even attempt to roll onto my stomach so I tend to lay on my back now, it's the most comfy for the both of us...

I've always been a tummy sleeper and slept that way till my bump got in the way with both pregnancies, and when it did it was pretty much the end of uninterrupted sleep for me

I remember I used to worry about sleeping on my left side with the gremlins coz Mercedes was the bigger baby and on the right so I worried that if I slept on my left side she was squishing Sienna. Like they weren't both totally squished in there to start with!
