Oh good luck. I am hopeless at giving any kind of information about any of this because I was 12 weeks before I found out I was carrying Ethan

Fingers crossed you will get some answers monday then, bet its going to be a long weekend for you!
In chch we get 12wk scans to check for the nuchal fold thing and 20 weeks scans to check for any other problems. I know of at least 6 other women who have had scans to check dates at around 7 weeks.

Sparkle you might just have to guess how far along you are - say maybe 6-7 weeks. But when you have your first scan they will figure dates out then so don't worry about it.
Also, your last negative test may have actually been a false negative if it was too close to conception.
Nausea/sore boobs/cramps can occur anytime in pregnancy, usually anytime in the first trimester between weeks 6 and 12. They are just symptoms, not really time-tellers. I feel cramps around the 6 week mark I think. They can be caused by implantation and by stretching as well.
Even if you are referred for a scan on Monday, it may take a while to get one. In Palmy they are booked up to 2 weeks or so in advance and then it depends on whether you are available at their next available time slot.
I don't want to put a downer on you, just fill you in a bit. Don't worry about dates, they'll get figured soon enough. In the meantime, here's hoping that ms doesn't establish into anything nasty!

Hello Sparkle,
I went through the same as you, I have very long cycles.. the doctor told me i could be 5 weeks or 10 weeks. I went to the scan expecting I was 10 weeks to find no baby and the women doing the scan said - sorry cant see a baby and done a internal- there was the egg. I was actually 5 weeks 1 day.. So take it as it comes and its best to not go expecting you are so many weeks. We ovulate at different times forsure.
I am now 9 weeks. :) Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Just home from the doctors. I'm about 4 and a half weeks preggers! Not the 9 weeks they first thought. I'm having a dating scan next week though to be sure. I think by then I'll be 6 weeks.
Off to figure out how to do a ticker!

scans are pretty easy to get in auckland....esp at places like horizon etc...and free to boot! We had first one done there at 7 weeks, then next three at insight ($95 each there) then one (unplanned) with specialist on his machine, and another one in a week...so am glad they arent too hard to get into!

If you live around south of akl .....there are several places that real good and free.
I had to have a date scan too as I had no period before getting pregnant.
Congrats again!
