What browser are you using?
In Firefox (and I assume IE) you can have a list of allowed sites - is it possible the page you're on has made it's way onto that list?

Have you got a adware/spyware program installed?
If you don't I suggest you download ad aware or spybot as it sounds like you could have spyware on your comp.

ad aware download

download spybot

Maybe try installing spybot too. They work well together, ie one will pick up something the other won't

Make sure you update the programs before running

don't worry about that message, it only comes up once.
I use both and it is fine. I used to work as a computer technician and would always install both on clients pcs

In that case it may also pay to get a new one. Avast is totally free and is really great. I use it and have never had any problems
download avast

Cool Kellie I know who to come to when I get stuck
Q. We have AVG - how does Avast do in comparison?

I personally think Avast is a lot better. It rates pretty high up there for a free one.

Some people can use AVG with no problems. But I used to work at various ISP helpdesks and the amount of calls we got where it turned out AVG was the culprit was quite high.
If a customer was using it and having problems browsing or receiving email the first thing we would usually do is tell them to disable or uninstall it.

We started with avast, then went on to AVG but we didn't have much memory on the comp and the downloads were HUGE in comparison, and seemed to bugger up the comp all the time, so switched back to avast. Have used it for about 3 years now and it's great.
