when to start giving Zac three meals a day and at what time. Plunket gave me a Guide to Baby Feeding and it says at stage 2 (from 6-7 months) to progress towards three meals a day.

Zac has been on solids since he was 4 months and at the moment has baby rice and fruit between 11 - 11:30 and two ice cubes of vegetables between 4 - 4:30. When I introduce the third meal would I need to change the times?

I wouldn't change the times if it works for you. Just give him something at breakfast time maybe? I dont really know why I decided to start Hannah on a third meal, but I did it when she was about 6 months.

Alex is six months and we give him a bottle at 7.00am followed by baby cereal, then another bottle at 11.00am followed by fruit, a bottle at 2.30pm with no solids and then dinner at 6.00pm with solids after that. We both work so we tend to buy his food from the supermarket. He'll have about 3/4 of a pottle 3 times a day. We do find it a struggle to get the 2.30pm feed in so will soon look at dropping that as his solids intake gets bigger (till he's eating 3 x full pottles). So far we are only using the foods for 4 months plus, haven't advanced to the food for 6 month plus and probably wont till his hunger increases.

My plunket nurse said when he is eating at least 4 tablespoons or more per feed to increase amount of feeding times. But saying that Xanda is only still having one feed of solids a day and that is about 5.30pm, and he eats about 3 ice cubes of apple. Don't really want to start giving him more feeds until we are back from the states.

I tried the four tablespoons and it was too much for him so will stick with the two meals a day.
