I'm pretty sure that's what she's up to Kels coz she doesn't get really wound up, it's just random squawks here and there.
I am so proud of her tho, after I put her back down after her 9pm feed she slept until 2.30am, her longest stretch ever! I nearly fell out of bed when I checked the time when I heard her wake! She did get up again after that at 4.30am but that was coz she had had a pretty major explosion and she settled again quickly after a change and a quick feed till 7.30am. She's been a bit squawky on and off this morning but is quiet again now and due a feed just after 1pm so pretty good.

We are trying to leave Ollie for three minutes - but only when I've put him in his bassinet for a sleep. I can't handle it at other times (he only has to stick out his bottom lip and I crumble). If his crying becomes just grizzles then I leave him a little longer but if it escalates I know he really needs something. I do just wish I could cuddle him forever though!!

I think alot depends on the bubba.
I have always let Gabs cry, sometimes i don't like it, but if its just on and off sqwarking (which she does too) i don't pay any attention, its only when she really goes to town that I will go and see whats up, but she's never been much of a crier, only if there is something the matter, so she's made my job as a mum easier for me I think.
All the best, congrats on your 4th baby, don't know how you cope with four, but sounds like you're doing a great job!!

Oh Emma, you're doing an amazing job!
...I might be frowned on for this, but yep, I let my newborn cry. I had to - if I wasn't willing to let her cry I literally could never get a shower in those first months I kept consulting with Plunket, Healthline, Midwife, Doc, about it, but she was just a screamer back then, my dear little Ella! There was no other way around it for me. It was tough and I don't have fond memories of that stage! That said, Ella is a brilliant sleeper now, and I credit some of that to us being so tough on her self-settling early on.

I didn't (and still don't) let Caleb cry but with our circumstances I could sit and cuddle him and the household semi-functioned so not such a biggie.
