Topic: So its not her dad.. Posted: 20 January 2008 at 10:53pm |
but his mum wants to meet Briahna!
Thats better than nothing right? Im quite happy about it. I wrote her a letter a couple weeks ago and she wrote back saying a whole lot of things. It was a surprisingly nice letter (if anyone remembers me saying about what happened, the exs parents werent exactly nice to me when i found out i was pregnant).
She admitted she lost her temper and said that she has put together a scrapbook of the exs pics for me to look at cause i mentioned how i dont know if she looks like him as a baby and yeah..
She didnt mention the ex but im just glad that my last effort to get them to have anything to do with her worked. Maybe not for Briahnas dad but at least his mum is interested in her grand daughter!
Im just so surprised. I didnt expect a reply! I expected the letter to be returned or something mean like that lol.

Good on you for making that first step, I seriously don't know if I could be 'big' enough to do it.
And that is awesome that her grandmother wants to meet her

thats really cool mel , and you were very brave and mature (and the better person) by taking that first step, it would have been easy to cut off contact etc after how they treated you but you obviously put your own feelings aside for your little girl, good for you :-)
I know she'll see her and fall in love , who wouldn't :-)

Thanks guys :) it was hard! It took me amonth to put it in the mailbox. hehe
I really wanted her to know her whole family aye, cause growing up i had so much fun with lots of cousins and family do's and what not. I want her to have that too and even though she would have enough love from my side she deserves to know her other side even if her dad doesnt wanna meet her!
we yeah, its hard not to fall in love with that little chees ball!!

Good on you for writing that letter - I think it will be good for Briahna to know both sides of the family. Sounds like the grandmother is keen and hope you'll develop a good healthy relationship.

Wow Mel, that's great news! I remember you talking about your MIL and thinking to myself what a cow she sounded like so you're a strong person for being able to lay all that aside for Briahna's sake.
Best of luck with it all! If it helps, Willie's family were great to Maya even when he was being a big time w*nker.
