Lesieli was named before she was born. The first granddaughter was always going to carrty her grandmothers name. Her dad chose her middles names.
Mercedes was called Autumn all thru my whole pregnancy. Her father wanted Christina or Erika but I didnt like them. A week before Mercedes was born her dad said he wanted to call her Mercedes. I said no it was Autumn and had been since I was 12weeks preg. WHen she was born I cried my eyes out (baby blues of course) she didnt suit Autumn so I went with Mercedes. That just suited so much better. Middle name is her nana's name.
Alize was named by his father before he was even thought of. One night 6 years ago he comes home from work(worked in a bottle store) with a bottle of Alize saying he loves the name and wants to call out next baby this boy or girl. SO when I was preg with Alize he reminds me of our conversation lol. I still have the bottle too.

We have been discussing baby names for years (even before we actually considered ourselves ready to TTC) but Michaela was one DH came up with when we were pregnant. Just out of the blue one day he suggested Michaela and I loved it.
We couldn't agree on a boys name at all (had about 6 favourites) so we were so happy at 20 weeks to find out we were having a girl. She's been Michaela ever since.
Michaela's middle name is Elizabeth named after our niece who is named after my sister who was named after my mums favourite doll.

I suggested it, we both liked it and neither of us has taught a lily - that is the huge bonus! We had a back up in case she didn't look like a lily, but she did.
Lol, during pregnancy Dh would make crazy suggestions for names too, like The Rock and Ken Rutherford and similar.

We both decided, think we knew by about the 5th week of pregnancy... we had a boys and a girls name all ready. Of course we discussed many other options throughout the pregnancy, but kept coming back to Luke - the only one we could agree on! His middle name is after both our grandfathers - they had the same name so that made it easy...

Im a really organised person so wanted to decide on a name way back in the begining. DH really wasnt interested in thinking about it that early so when ever the topic came up all he could suggest were super hero names. I eventually just made a list of names I liked and he picked the only one he liked and thats been the name since. The first one seemed so much easier as we both just thought of it one night a few months before I gave birth.

We went through the whole pregnancy calling him Boris, it just seemed to suit him whilst he was inside me!! Everyone was really worried that we were actually going to call him Boris!!!!
We had 3 names chosen, and when he was born he just seem to look like an Oliver. It took us forever to agree on the final 3 though! We have some girls names but we are still in debate about those. I really like unusual names and DH likes very safe names.....so not sure where we will end up with the next one!

It was pretty much my choice and as long as we had a boy (we didn't know beforehand) we were alright as DH didn't like me choice of girls names. Although DH had opinions on what he didn't like, he didn't have any names he did like!
I also won out on having 2 middle names! We/I named our little boy after both sides of the family
Jack Antony (DH) Ferdinand (my Dad's middle name)
Not sure how we will go when we have more, especially a girl as that is the name we have problems with

It was pretty much all me, apart from Mercedes. I named Maya a couple of days after I found out she was a girl, and she was going to be Maya come hell or high water. With the gremlins I found out they were girls while I was over in Oz so I rang Willie to tell him and he said, good, I have a name for one of them. He'd met a girl at his niece's 21st that weekend called Mercedes, and seeing as he drives a Mercedes truck decided that if the gremlins were girls, one of them would be Mercedes. Initially I said "yeah right" but it grew on me, and once I found out the meaning ("in honour of the virgin Mary") I was sold. I picked Sienna after much debate ( those who have been around long enough will remember the nutty friend I lost over that who thought she 'owned' the name Sienna *rolls eyes*), I thought of lots of other names but kept coming back to Sienna. Willie picked their Maori middle names, I picked all their European ones except Kailah (Mercedes) which my mum picked.
This bubs will probably be Chiara Louise Whitinga o Te Ra girl or Luca Shakur Wiremu John for a boy.

I dont know how it came about but DH was to decide on what her name was.. i think i lost a bet or something
i had mentioned the name janaya really early on and he said it was a dumb name. but when she was born thats what he named her! He still denies me ever mentioning the name! I gave her the middle name rose, DH wasnt too keen but i convinced him she looked like a janaya rose and signed the certificate.
this time around i was hoping DH would let me name him. I wouldnt like to name him anything that DH disagrees with though..

I chose Conor's name. I didn't have anyone else to consult so that was easy. His middle name Alexander is my Grandad's middle name.
Nyah Zoe, I chose Nyah DH chose Zoe.
Cooper Wade, I chose DH agreed, he liked Wade. One of our friends used to call him Spanglor for a joke...

Meh, im sorry if it sounds immature, but I chose Caitlyn's name and I ALLOWED her father to chose a middle name -as long as i liked it (which i did) -i figured when he gives birth he can name that child, same with DP and children we have, ive told him my next daughter will be called Amelia Rachel Jade , and he knows thats all there is to it, boys names we are hopeless on so i may ask for his input.
I have told him he can name any goldfish we get.
As long as its a name i like ....
