Making food in someone elses kitchen and mess the whole place up and leave it for them to clean up.

Getting up at 5 in the afternoon after you have worked your butt off getting everything ready for a holiday and then them saying: "Oh I was going to get up early to help you out."

Telling me how to raise my child when you dont have kids of your own and doesnt look like you like kids at all.

Told you guys it is all going to be about guests. Sorry.

Stacey are our men related? Happens in our house too. ESPECIALLY the recycling thing. Dh's beer bottles are left all over the lounge/office/bedroom (where he plays his xbox) - but if he actually DOES pick them up, they just go on the kitchen bench, left for me to put a few paces away in the recycling bins (which DH also went out & bought!!!)

You're lucky the dishes do get put in the dishwasher, Dh hasn't mastered that yet.

I have heaps too but heres a few of mine.

Leaving t bags in the sink instead of putting them in the rubbish, which is directly under the sink.

Leaving junk mail all around the house in odd places

Not stacking the dishwasher properly ie cups where the plates go OR not rinsing things before putting them in the dishwasher

Not folding the towels properly, I always refold.

And with road rage, people that indicate to pull into a side road a mile ahead of where it is and then when they get to it don't bloody move over so you can't get past.

This is our old pet hates post.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I can't beleive I didn't post in this thread before...

BIG pet hate is

leaving dirty dishes in the SINK - it can be on the bench but NOT in the sink - and the food that cloggs up the plug hole - yuck and I hate it!

Toilet roll when ran out being left in the toilet - whats so hard about bringing it out with you and putting in bin or fire!!!

Toilet roll put on the wrong way (I always have to turn it around - even in peoples houses although i have mellowed on that)

People talking about someone no nicely behind their back (back stabbing) its just not right.

Drivers that speed up on passing lanes.. grrrr

Liers

People who say they are going to do something and then don't

Oh god I think i have enough there - there will be plenty more though - guess not everyone can be perfect like me

Haha me too, and ditto for doing it at other people's houses

My pet hates are the squawking cutlery on plates too (eeek! shivers just thinking about it), squeezing the toothpaste from the middle of the tube not the bottom (and also the cruddy stuff that builds up around the nozzle bit).

More things that bug me are hoicking/spitting in public, nose-picking in public (not rude in Asia), people who stand in front of the train doors when people are trying to get off, school kids who let old ladies stand for me on the train/bus but don't offer to get up themselves

Oooh and I have to add - on the guests theme - I hate it when people don't take their shoes off at the door (when it's obvious that's what we do here) and when they leave the aircon blasting in their room all day WHILE THEY'RE OUT OF THE HOUSE.

Ok, enough from me now

LOL AnnC. I don't think it's as bad in NZ because it's not necessarily the norm, but here in Singapore (as in most parts of Asia) taking your shoes off indoors is commonplace .. and it's rude not to so lots of expats just have the "shoes off inside" rule anyway. I always explain to "out of towners" though ... even though I would have thought ME taking MY shoes off would be self-explanatory (as well as the shoe rack next to the door

hehe great thread..

Mine are as follows :

1. Squeezing the toothpaste from the top or middle instead of the bottom
2. Leaving skanky undies and socks on the bedroom floor.. (is it REALLY that hard to pick them up and take them to the laundry????)
3. Dirty dishes in the sink.. on the bench yes
4. People who do half arsed jobs.. I end up going around behind them and doing it again so I should of just done it myself.
5. People treating me like I'm an idiot... I wasn't born yesterday ya know?
6. Back Stabbers
7. Liars
8. The lack of courtesy from drivers for foot traffic

Ummmm, I think I'm done... I may be back LOL
