I don't have a problem leaving Michaela with DH, I do it every weekday, although the first couple of times I left him to do her bedtime routine I was really nervous and I still prefer to stay at home and spend time with her and Dh than go out.

However DH and I have been given movie tickets by my sis who has also offered to baby sit while we're at the movies so we've decided to make a night of it and go out to dinner first then stay in a hotel for the night.

It'll be our first night away from Michaela and our first night out together. The weddings don't count as DH was MC at both and really busy and I ended up missing the reception of the second because Michaela was screaming the motel down and the babysitters weren't able to settle her at all - she screamed for over an hour and had herself worked up to an awful state by the time I got back, she continued sobbing for another 10 mins while she calmed down again and then wouldn't let me go for about 60 mins. I acknowledge that was different since she hadn't spent much time with the babysitters before and she was in a motel in a different city so unsettled anyway - it was actually the trip from hell and I was so pleased to leave chch I was almost in tears at the airport.

This time we'll only be 20 mins drive away in case something goes wrong, it'll be my sis who she sees every week babysitting (plus MIL lives downstairs), she's 5 months older now and it'll be in her own home so I'm pretty confident everything will be fine (do I sound convincing? I'm really working hard on convincing myself).

Since I work days and DH works nights we hardly see each other so I'm looking forward to having a night alone with him for the first time in 26 months.

I had no issues leaving Maya, but leaving her overnight was a different story, the first time I ever left her overnight was when I hurt my back and ended up in hospital so I literally had no choice. Luckily my Dad happened to be here from Oz and he stayed with her coz Willie and I weren't together at the time. I remember crying my eyes out on a stretcher in the ED and a nurse coming in and feeling sorry for me and trying to arrange more pain relief and I was like "it's not the pain, I want my baby!"

Now tho I have no issues with leaving the whole bloody lot of them! Maya has had a few sleepovers with friends, and of course when I went to hospital to have the gremlins, and on the numerous occasions the gremlins have been in hospital I've been away from her for up to a week. The only time I've ever been away from the gremlins overnight tho was when I was in hospital with hyperemesis so again, had no choice. I do feel bad about leaving them, but more co they are such hard work for anyone else to cope with than that I'm worried about them lol.

haha emma , caitlyn is dying to have sleep overs , but all her friends parents feel their kids are too young.

I need my breaks from Caitlyn, i love her more than anything , but i like to just be Kelly (or The kelly ) once in awhile, and not "mum" all the time
