Hi,

I'm knitting a hooded jacket and the pattern asks me to:

Next row: Rib 4, rib 6, rib2tog etc....

what do they mean by rib?

Many thanks in advance

rib
ribbing: vertical columns of knit and purl stitches, side by side, as in K1, P1 ribbing

But I'm not sure what they mean by rib 4 and then rib 6. I assumer rib2tog means knit (or purl) 2 stitches together. What part of the jacket are you doing?

Its on the back.

I've done 5 rows of K3,P3. To make up the rib part of the jacket

then it asks to do the row mentioned above

followed by

1st row knit
2nd row purl

for 12cms to make up the back of the jacket.

Reading it again I think you're right.
