Nothin wrong with TM shopping, I spent ages trying to find a pair of jeans for Michaela but didn't like the ones in PP or JK so ended up buying a really cute pair off TM. I them.

PP is making a bomb out of me atm, I have brought too much of their new season stuff. Michaela has 3 new dresses (my fav is the black one with pink flowers emboidered all over), 3 new t-shirts and a really cute pair of grey velour trackpants with pink stripes down the side. Luckily Nana paid for most of it.

I ended up leaving them at work last night then having a chat with him. It went like this:

Me: What would you say if I found a really fantastic pair of boots today?

DH: How much are they gonna cost me?

Me: Hang on, what if I told you I found a fantastic pair of boots today but they are red?

DH: What is wrong with the red boots I bought you???!!! You haven't worn them!

Me: Yes I know and I plan to but I really like these other boots and they are so stylish plus I can wear them with skirts cause they are tall boots - those red ones you bought me are lovely but they are just ankle ones. I will wear them tho.

DH: Ok, so again, how much are they gonna cost me?

Me: $260.

DH: Oh, that is a great price - I thought you were looking at ones that were $500!

Me: I was, but these are a really good compromise and exactly what I want.

DH: Ok, so buy them - some women have 20-30 pairs of shoes for work. How many do you have? 5??

Me: Sweet, Ill pop out and get them tomorrow.

LOLOLOL! I am wearing them now and OMG, they are so comfy.

I felt that I had to tell him because they are kind of obvious and cost a lot. Just a slight bending of the truth.

But they do look good. Have had so many compliments (and just went to the bathroom and stopped to look at them in the full length mirror on the way out).

Well worth it!

I was just more worried about him bringing up the red boot thing, which he did.

Glad it went well for you!

DH could care less what I spend on things. He alwasy tells me to get what I want as long as I am happy. He knows that I manage the money anyway so i would only spend what can be afforded.

I would tell him if he asked, sometimes he does just out of interest, but I don't care as I can tell him the truth. I am a lousy liar anyway.

We don't have too much issue with how much we spend on ourselves because we have a spending allowance each. Helped a lot.

But as for the original question, I do struggle to tell my DH totally honestly what I think of his actions at times. Cause I don't wanna hurt him
