Topic: what are your kids into at the mo? Posted: 09 October 2006 at 5:36pm |
being nosey really...(and asked on TNN also)
Just wondering what everybodys little darlings are into at the moment.
My oldest (3 in november) is really into dinosaurs and is loving the prehistoric park series on tv. we tape it and when he was sick he would watch 3 episodes back to back. he also has a container full of plastic animals - including dinosaurs - and lately he has taken to carrying the container around as well as one full of plastic toys belonging to the step brother. oh and walking on all fours like an animal, just wish i knew what animal he was.!
my little boy who is 15 mths in about 2 days loves to copy his brother and climb on things. he also has started to take an interest in books, yay for that one. he is a little chatter box and says so many words and likes to growl like a little monster and look at things upside down.
what about yours....?

Jj is cookie monster, with the growling. He is really into music, and sings to himself, and dances away if he hears something he likes. He knows the tune to twinkle twinkle and wheels on the bus, which he will hum away with out prompting, does the hand actions too. He is just starting to get into books, too, he will climb up on the chair and "read" a book, he looses interest about halfway through when I read to him, but he likes to do it himself, like most other things these days. He is OBSESSED with shoes, especailly some nice pink ones of mine, and his gummies. Outside is his fave place, he loves exploring, and although he isn't walking, he LOVES climbing... Very chatty as well. When I picked him up from care one day last week, one of the 3 year olds said to me "jacobs mum, I had to tell jacob to be quiet today becasue he talks all the time" Ha ha!

gs mum, we have kids the same age. Only mine are girls - see the difference!!
Hannah (3 in Dec): loves looking at things behind her in mirrors, finally likes hairties in, climbs all over the furniture (and has fallen off ), loves baking and videos and pretend picnics with her dolls, chattering alllllll day.
Briona (14 1/2 mos): climbing onto Hannah's bed and pulling the blanket onto her!, being outdoors, finding loose stones in the concrete outside, books. She's also just started getting our attention when her nappy needs changing and then she goes to the lounge and lies down until we change it!!! (This is a 1yr old who hardly ever stays still lol).

jake loves building things with his duplo - and taine loves to kncok duplo things down, so our lounge is filled with the sounds "nooooooo Taine."
Jake is still loving Blues CLues as in Taine. Taine sits entranced and claps at Joe. Jake stands, sings and dances - although recently has been most put off by the new songs and Blues room.
taine is loving outside and if he isn't making a break for the verandah, he is standing at the window peering out. When he is outside, he makes straight for the gravel as everything goes in the mouth.

Andrew is obsessed with Thomas - very expensive but we get things for him as treats. My friend introduced me to a shop in Palmy that has so much thomas stuff - mostly clothing for quite cheap. We have decided that we will get his stuff from there and put it all into a Thomas bag and it will be his present from the bubba. We hope to get everyone that wants to give him a gift to wrap it up and put it in the bag - he'll be over the moon. Blocks he loves building towers then busting them with his trucks. At daycare he is playing a bit in the "family play" area and putting "Tigger" to bed. His carer said it has been happening since we told him I was pregnant - shesaid he is being a lot more caring towards others - fingers crossed it stays.

Maya is into Steve Irwin (still!). She thinks she is Steve Irwin. She wrestles her stuffed crocodile (which is about 10cm long ) and my dad bought her a scrap book which she sticks every single picture she spots of Steve in.
Oh and she is big on drawing and writing.

Gosh lets see....
Wiggles is an all time Fav. I have around the world, splish splash and wake up Jeff DVD. If we want her to sit still for an hour or so, thats what we put on. She laughs, claps, and dances to all their silly songs (as do I....)
She likes her huggies car tent and goes in and out and plays pick a boo with us. Like to throw things in the Air and laugh (Lovely DH taught her that). Loves remotes...she can spot them any where (even if dad is sitting on one)...she tries to pull it out from under him.
Loves outdoors and gets grumpy if she cant go for a walk outside (or should I say in her pram)....but with this weather...hmm...
Every thing goes in to her mouth....
She loves to kiss her own baby photo's and kisses selective other baby pics....very fussy! ....will kiss me but no one else. Not even Dad!!

Jack loves knocking towers down that we build for him. He loves opening cupboards and standing up on everything and pulling everything down. He loves the dog and always laughs whenever he makes a noise. He loves being taken outside in his sling. He loves his food and would spend all day eating if he could.
