Aww thanks guys!! As much as I'm not a Doctor, I don't think it would be that, as if he did have it - wouldn't he be in pain because of it?!?
Besides the abscess, he is a happy little boy who doesn't cry out like he's in pain at all - ever! I thought if crohns was causing the abscess he'd be in pain and upset over it.
Thanks again for all your thoughts and warm hugs - it helps to know you guys are of great support!!

Hugs Italiah! I dont know much about CHrons in babies but as you may know I have ulcerative colitis (which is like the baby brother of Chrons - yes...has to be male cause it causes grief!). I would expect pain, diarrohea etc. I know when my UC flares up I am definately far from comfortable! Maybe the absesses have never healed properly in the first place and therefore keep reinfecting. I know when I have had an abscess before it was very important that it healed from the inside out rather than closing over so maybe his healed funny.
Fingers crossed it will all be over soon.

where does he get the absess?
When my crohns acts up (as I call it) I am in alot of pain as 'it' makes its way thru my intestines (it being a #2) which can be an hour or so before hand to just before hand... Crohns is very painful in teens and adults so i presume it would be painful for Jett.

He has peri-anal abscess which is right next to the a-hole. So it's a hard place to keep clean and dry.
He's a really contented baby, but I am so sure he would cry and act in pain if the crohns was acting up. When he poo's there is no crying pain or him acting uncomfortable at all.

so he doesn't pull his knees up? Does he strain more than normal to have a poo? cause the poos could be cutting the anus and then creating an absess - this can happen with none crohn people too..
Thing is I can not let you know if Jett has or hasn;t got crohns only the specialist can do that. But its not all doom and gloom - I live a normal life after the operation (I got part of my intestines cut out)

Well I finally got a letter from Waikato hospital with an appt for Jett to see the paed. I don't think it's going to be the actual surgery again, just a check-up. I'm so hoping that because his little tush has been good for quite some time they'll be happy to leave any more surgery.
We have to go to Waikato Hospital on 16 June. Long way for an appt . But will be good to see where we're at.

 Hope it all goes well
DH's Dad has a brain tumor and trigeminal neuralgia (nerve damage in his jaw from brain tumor) and has to make 6 monthly trips to Waikato. It's pain in the butt!
I wish TGA hospital was equipped to deal with more, huh?!

Thanks Ann.
Yeah Charly, I wouldn't get so freaked out if we were just going to Tga hospital - especially now cos it's all new & flash! I hate travelling over the Kaimai's as well.
Your poor FIL not only with the tumour, but having to travel that distance that often!

Yeah, the Kaimais aren't my favourite road to drive, either
Hopefully the next 3 weeks go fast for you. Nothing worse than waiting around
**eta, thanks And I re-read my post, it's twice a year, not 6 per month.. I worded that wrong. But it's still awful as his jaw pain can be so bad sometimes that even brushing his teeth or shaving is agony - the bumpy, twisty turny roads are hell for him.
Anyway - threadjack over.
