Hi Ladies,

Just curious if anyone else here happened to still be breastfeeding when they got pregnant again? I'm still bf'ing and have been too slack to wean Alyssa, however was hoping that once I got knocked up again, she would dislike the taste of the milk and wean herself! (Wishful thinking I'm sure)... Oh and she's not drinking much for the milk, it's more just a comfort thing for her I think.

Anyway, I read somewhere it's usually around the 4 month mark that the milk changes in taste from sweet to salty, so has anyone been through this? I know if it doesn't happen that way I'm going to have to make more effort to wean.

Congrats Pepsi thats so exciting.

Um we breastfed up until around 5 months pregnant (Jack was 13 months) we stopped because he was not interested at all and kept biting and it was making me really irritated and i hated it so much (really hard to explain the feeling but you just get this feeling of hate). Hope that helps.

Haha Thanks ladies.

I have this feeling Alyssa probably won't stop on her own either to be honest.. I don't actually want to be bf'ing her anymore cause it can be painful with the increased sensitivity, and she just seems too big for it now what with actually asking for "boobie" or "mummy, milk"

with both my last two i was pregnant and bf... did it for two months then weaned. with gabirel it was easy...he didnt care either way, but toby was 2 and still having a long bf in the morning. i fed for two months again and then it got too sore so told him we had to stop. we just changed his routine a bit so he didnt miss it too much and it was easier than i thought. but still a bit upsetting. then later on when he asked i could tell him that the boobies were for the baby and he wasnt a baby anymore...

big congrats on the pregnancy!!!! YAY!

Congrats! I got pg while bf 3 times hehe (one m/c). The girls didn't seem to have any issues with the bm going salty but I'm sure it does cause I had that issue when my first AF came back after Hannah and she refused to feed Anyway I didn't get as far along as you - once I hit about 5-6 weeks pg I just felt far too fatigued to feed 3 of us so I speed-weaned!! hehehe. If you don't have that issue, then it's completely up to you when to wean although I'm guessing you'll want to wean in the next few months before the 3rd trimester and not go tandem-feeding - guessing solely on your toddler's age
