Topic: TMI (sh*tty nappies) Posted: 22 February 2007 at 5:14pm |
Oh my god, i feel like i am up to my armpits in baby sh*te, man ive never seen nappies like this...i have just had to clean the carpet and it went down the sides of her legs.
My question is...her nappies are really runny, really smelly and today they have been mucousy (sp) as well.
She is teething, there are 4 top teeth sitting right there...when she smiles you see 4 big white lumps.
She is eating, drinking and sleep well and is generally happy...doesnt cry when she goes or anything.
SO is it just teething or should i be taking her to the doctor....we have had sh*tty nappies for about 3 wks now, but its only been the past 2 days they have gotten this bad...ive already done 2 loads of nappies today and am back to using cloth as all her pockets have been used (all 12)
poor little thing

Emma Rose always gets like this when teething -- it's just SO glamorous being a mum, isn't it? Some days I wished I had rubber pants to put on over her nappy!
Supposedly it's an old wives' tale that babies get runny poops when they're teething, but Em always does, and every baby I know does as well. I say, as long as her bum isn't red and raw, and she's still eating and drinking okay, then hang in there and see if it improves in a couple of days. Is she eating the same things as usual, or have you tried her on any new foods? Is there blood in her nappy or is it just runny poop? Is she running a temperature? Is she pooping more than usual?
If you're really worried, then by all means go to the doctor and get her checked out, if only just for your peace of mind. It sounds like just one of the delights of teething, but you're the mama, and if you're concerned, nobody is going to blame you for being cautious!
Big hugs and hope the sh*t ends soon!
:) Katherine

Haha I'm with you nictoddie, Xanda probably eats about 2 a day as well, he is getting to a stage where he demands a naanaa and stands in the kitchen shouting about it.
Hope today has continued to be a no sh**ty nappy day for ya Kazzle.

Hope the sh$%y nappies have ceased. I had about three months of it, went through various tests and they all came back negative and my boy has finally popped a couple of teeth over the last couple of weeks and they have actually become solid again. A long time to have sh$%y naps thats for sure but I'm beginning to think there is a theory behind that old wives tale.

Jack had same thing at same age for a month or so every time he went it would be a change of clothes one. Couldn't figure out what it was as he was happy and eating fine and then a couple of teeth appeared so id say thats what it is.
