Is it just me, or are mums of girls more prepared to shell out serious cash, than the mums of boys?

I agree Lizzle! Is it me or is there a bigger and better range of girls clothes to boys?

I've noticed that also that there seems to be nicer girls clothes than boys I guess it will be the other way round if I have a girl.

Yup. I think it's also because if you look at the girls part of a store vs the boys, the girls part is always way bigger.

I think with girls though, they can do dresses and pants, and girls it is so much easier to do all that cuter stuff. Before I had jack I spent ages trying to find a gorgeous outfit to have for Jack to come home frm the hospital in, but couldn't find anything, but there was heaps of girls stuff.
As far as how much I would spend, Jack plays hard so even if he was home all the time, I wouldn't spend a lot as it would just get wrecked.

I refuse to pay those kind of prices for kids' clothes which are going to be well-worn but in such a short space of time! Sales and second-hand for us, and probably I am largely influenced by having the first two on student income. I was also astonished when I saw that PP kids' clothes are similar price to what I pay for my clothes - unreal!

OMG yes!! Childrens clothes are ridiculously priced for something that wont last them long..
I purchased 5 outfits for Keziah a few days before Christmas. PP, JK & Baby Factory ALL had sales the best discount I got was 70% at the Baby Factory *wOoT*
I'm not a tight wad as such, I just can't justify spending that much money on some material that's probably worth less than $5 a metre LOL
Mel, where is Cotton-On?? I've been looking everywhere for them! Do they have website?

Actually just thinking about clothes etc, lol, once I've sorted out Paris's winter wardrobe I'll finally be able to transfer all the stuff she doesn't fit to Ayja's wardrobe, then i can finally bring myself to get rid of the stuff that Ayja, amazingly, is finally growing out of. Her arms and legs are finally getting too long for all the size 0-1 stuff i got from tnt for her when she was 1, pretty good that it did her nearly 2 winters and is in great nick... pretty much all tnt stuff too.
oh dear, more clothes shopping, how sad, lol.

We got Maya's winter wardrobe today from JK (well my parents did as her birthday present), they spent $180 and got three outfits - jeans, a long sleeve t and a tunic, cords, a long sleeve t and a swing top and leggings, a denim skirt and a top. We bought on the big side tho so she will get plenty of wear out of it, plus it can get handed down. I'd rather pay more $$$ to get better quality esp with three little ones to pass them down to. Oh and just coz I can

Yep I think they are, hence why I only buy in sales and when the kids only really really need new clothes now. I am so glad I have 2 boys so that Andrew's stuff has been handed down to Josh.
I only buy at PP and JK at the outlet store in Otaki and usually only when a sale is on. And in general they are reserved for Birthdays and Christmas.
I am also finding that Farmers is becoming quite expensive for kids clothes as well.

Yup - never found it a problem before kids... but now there's just sometimes when it would come in really handy.
