So sorry for your loss. We lost our family cat this year, she was around 18 years old, so I understand how hurt you must be feeling. I was really upset, but know she's in a better place, she was definitely showing her age for awhile before she died...unable to retract her claws, unable to jump, and practically blind. She died in her fav spot with family around her (cept me, as she lived at my parents in Whk). To remember her I brought a little cat charm that I have on my house keys.

Hey all,
Thanks for all your kind thoughts and wishes. To be honest today has been hard for us both and tonight has had a great big gaping Bosco sized hole in it. The sofa arm is very empty without him in his usual evening spot.
The other three seem to have known something was up. Ellie especially has been looking pretty lost without her buddy around.
We took his body to the vet today and he is being cremated and we will get his ashes back in a rimu urn with an engraved plaque which will be nice. Not sure what we will do with it after that.
We're also looking into getting a portrait done of all the cats, I've found a lady who does them (from photos) and 10% of her fee goes to the animal charity of your choice. It would be a nice way to immortalize all four of them.

That sounds like a lovely way to remember Bosco, and to recognise the relationship between the other three
We have three little wooden boxes with our cats ashes in - each with an engraved plaque. (well, Mum has them at her place).
She keeps them on the bookcase, in the lounge. It's a comfort having them there - especially since they were all with us for 15 odd years.
I hope today is a bit easier, despite the grief.

That sounds really lovely and I've seen portraits done like how you mention and they look really beautiful.
The other animals always seem to know what's happened and they seem to go through a grieving process as well.
Hugs again Like Charly, I hope today is a bit easier for you.

Oh wow this made me cry!
I love my boys and would be devestated if anything happened to them. I lost my beautiful girl last year and still miss her, she was only 2 1/2! Way too soon.
I hope you are doing ok, I know exactly how you feel and am thinking of you. Take care
