Every now and then I do like Linda said I miss the fact that just can't do things randomly anymore go out on a whim so to speak and now when I do get to go out I appreciate a whole lot more even though I have only really been out properly once since James was born. I'm happy with that and wouldn't anything for the life of me.

I don't so much miss my life before as wish I could go back and do it better while I had the chance! Ahh the joys of hindsight!

I know what you mean caraMel. I partied hard nearly every night in my late teens and early 20s (oh to have that energy again) but some of my friends bought their first homes in their early 20s. Maybe if I'd been a bit more smart about it I could have too but hey, I enjoyed myself and every moment, good or bad, made me the person I am today and I'm pretty happy with that.
I have 4 really close friends I've met over the past 8 years and we try and have wines at lunch once a fortnight and a girls night twice a year. That helps, I still get to hang out and let my hair down every now and then while being a responsible mum, breadwinner, billpayer etc most of the time.
hmmm. who's for finding a baby sitter and coming out for a lunch time drink

I don't miss the single - go out get pissed try and score - life
I do sometimes miss the shopping (with money to spend), coffee/brunch with friends, ALONE time with DH... but I too wouldn't change my life as it is now for all the world!
I wanted my babies soooo badly and I can honestly say I love my life the way it is now, even if I have my ups and downs

Must admit, do miss the money thing a bit. I've never been single (was 18 when I met DH) but my income was my own until we got married and we were just talking the other day about how I had a great hairdresser I saw every 6 weeks for a cut and colour which cost at least $200 per visit. Now I get my hair cut once or twice per year at just cuts for $32 and I haven't coloured it in forever.
But same as newmum it doesn't really matter. I wanted my baby so much, it only took us 3 months to concieve but that was after about 6 years of cluckiness, subtle hints to DH, blatant hints to DH and telling DH that if I wasn't pregnant by him at 26 I'd be going somewhere else for it (ok I wasn't really serious about the last part but funnily enough we found out I was pregnant with a month to spare before my 27th birthday).

sometimes when I feel like that Mummybecks I just need a good night out with some friends and then I feel better again.
I don't so much wish for the good old days, cos I can still remember they weren't always "good" and some of the things I did back then I wouldn't want to repeat.
I prefer my life now, but ask me again in 6 months once bubs comes out

I miss having a sleep in on my own (pre marriage) or pottering around my flat when I lived on my own. I don't get any alone time now at all, I am either at work or at home with DH and DD. I even get grumpy when I am reading in bed alone and DH comes in to 'chat'. 5 minutes is all I ask!
I also miss just being able to drop whatever I was doing, grab my bag and be off out! And to spend money without a care in the world. I also had an amazing hair dresser and would cut and colour my hair at $200 a go once every 6 weeks! Now I have roots and a cheap haircut. At least I have my GHD's to pacify me!
I miss going on random trips to Melbourne or Brisbane with my bestie - we used to do this at least once a year and blow far too much money on shopping and partying.
I kind of miss the 'thrill' of a new relationship too but hey, what to you expect once you are married!!?
I do admit that I loved my single life but in a different way to how I love my life now.
Funny that this topic came up now, cause I have been missing my old life a lot lately!
