I've been having problems over the last couple of weeks as I've been a bit stressed out and my milk production went down quite drastically. I went to the health store on Thursday and was recommended this tea called Materni-Tea, and it is fantastic. I have gone from being able to express about 90ml from one side to now getting over 180ml or more. It's quite expensive ($13.50 for a 20gm bag) but you use only a teaspoon per cup and I can't recommend it enough.

also, apparently complan's pretty good for breastfeeding mothers, i don't know whether its good for producing more milk or just meeting nutritional needs but i've just heard it's good. lcukily i've always had the opposite problem, too much milk.

a banana a day and lots of water - always worked for me - oh and nuts for the protein, but not too many. good on you for finding something that works so well for me.

That's great to know - thanks. I was going really well until a breast infection and my supply seemed to drop right off. I'm still offering Amelia breast first, but we seem to have to top up with formula every feed, and the Plunket nurse reckoned she is probably mostly formula fed, which I was a bit disappointed about.

I was always told porridge & lots of water if I needed help with my supply. I do the water thing & try to eat regularly but I can't stand porridge so its lucky I have a really good supply! I'm still feeding both of my boys & then I can still express a bottle or two afterwards.
