There is a reason why I like to do my housework all by myself. Sure, some help is nice, but should really only be attempted on the basic tasks that don't require a woman's logic.
As we were shifting furniture around in the bedroom today, DP moved some piles of clothes from on top of the drawers. Instead of figuring out what was clean/dirty, he chucked it all in the washing basket. I assumed that it wouldn't get any further than the washing basket, as he is virtually incapable of operating the washing machine. So I made a mental note to sort through the washing later because I know explicitly which item belongs where and it's general state of cleanliness.
Alas, I was wrong, and before I knew it he had put it all in the washing machine and turned it on. Being a nice person I thought better than to burst his godly domestic bubble, and thanked him kindly for helping (underestimating exactly how much clothing he had put in the basket).
See, I'm not fussy, but I have a washing system, and today was not washing day. I don't do a lot of washing at a time as we don't have an outside washing line, just a string in the garage that I can't reach, and an airing rack. Therefore, I wash a few times a week, the items I know we will need.
The washing machine finishes it's cycle... I have to hang it out, as once something is in the washing machine, the notion of washing is well and truly over for my DP.( I don't know how he thinks things get dry) So then I go into the laundry to find a pile of 'actual' dirty towels and things on the floor that he had pulled out of the washing machine, and a FULL washing machine full of clothes that were already clean before he put them in there.
It's all done now though. I hung the whole lot out, while he stood and watched while he mucked around in his tool box.
I did actually 'mention' to him that the washing was already clean, but it somehow became my fault for not putting clothes away in the drawers and how was he supposed to know what was clean or not!. The funny thing is, all the clothes he washed were his, and he hasn't worn them for ages. (Grr, and also my pyjamas that were nice and clean for me to wear tonight, but now will be wet till tomorrow)
Sorry for the really long post. I am just quite annoyed at the stupidity of the man.
Please share some stories about stupid things a man you know has done, so I know I'm not alone in the world.
