It was never my intention to start any form of debate, be it over sexuality or nature vs nurture, I was just curious as to why you said what you did Bombshell - and while I may not agree with what you've said, thank you for explaining

Yeah, my view is everything in moderation. If I had a boy, I'd be more than happy for him to have a dolls house etc but then he could have a train set and a tonka truck too!
And as far as I have observed toddlers (other friend's kids, creche kids, family members etc) at about 2/3 they all seem to go through a "nurturing" phase... boys and girls... and the boys seem to grow through it and by 5 they are onto the "girl germs" phase! Delightful! Then you have to try and stop them from ripping off dolls heads.

Amen to that i used to go away for a couple of weeks at a time and come home to find in my room barbie torsos, legs, heads and arms scattered everywhere by my darling brother!!
Needless to say he would ride around on my pink bike that had pink wheels and i can GUARANTEE hes not gay lol U kinda get that impression when hes hanging out the window going "PHWOAR YERRRRRR SHES HOOOOOTTTT" and dribbling everywhere at any chick he sees

Andrew loves to play in the family corner at his daycare, and his carer thinks the reason for this is because I am pregnant and he wants his baby too. When Andrew was a little younger when he was at my parents place their were mostly girls toys as mum and dad had 3 girls. The only "real" boys toy was a concrete truck that my sister got when she was 2 as she loved trucks.
The vacuum cleaner that Andrew has been playing with makes the noises but doesn't pick up the dust - I would be buying one if they did work properly.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Have you tried letting her use it? Andrew was when he was a lot younger but now loves it. He (for some reason) loves it when I put it on his tummy. Different feeling I spose.

My Briona has only just got over the vacuum cleaner - and waste disposal. I didn't have as much patience with her as with Hannah (when you've got 2 kids and need to vacuum you just gotta do it!) so I plonked her on the couch and just got it over and done with as soon as I could.

Erin's not a vacuum cleaner fan either, not even the dustbuster
And I used to have a Tonka truck when I was little, it was a dump truck and lived in my sand pit !

Good excuse not to vacuum I say!!
Quinn used to be scared of the vacuum too, I used to have to vacuum with him on my hip. Not easy with a porker like him!

My niece at 4 is still afraid of the vacuum. Whenever my Mum does it she has to go to the opposite end of the house, and if you go near her with it she becomes hysterical.
I'm sure it won't last, but it's amazing she's still so freaked by that when she knows how it works what its for etc.
Oh and, she'll happily sit through the drags with Dad so not afraid of noise? Little weirdo
