All these subsidy things are really confusing, ill just go to my WINZ office and ask them closer to the time for working for families and child care etc.

Sorry just got my net back. Andrew was only booked in for the 17 hours Rach.

You have to pay the deposit as well.

Jake and Taine's daycare require two weeks deposit - without the winz subsidy. they are sitting on nearly $400 of our money there!

Dragging this back up instead of making a new topic, can we claim back on the subsidy at the end of the year/6 month period for reassessment? DH gets bonuses and they've recently pushed us to the least amount of subsidy. I don't want a bill at the end of the 6 month reassessment if those bonuses push us over the income threshold We can't estimate the bonuses either because they work on percentages of targets etc...

I've had a read of their website, but nothing is answering my question. TIA!

Kirst are you talking about the 6 monthly reassessment?? I wouldn't worry about the bonus and just go on his usual income. The bonus will however affect an WFF you can get.

Also at the end of the tax year you should get a statement of how much you have paid, that there can go back to IRD and you can get up to $310 a year for the family back.

Can someone please tell me where I can find more about this? We are in the process of applying for a child disability allowance for Emma and I'm returning back to work in a few weeks. Would Gina qualify too as a sibling? Do you get 50 hour total ie 20 hours for Emma, 30 hours for Gina OR up to 50 hours per child? What is the amount of the subsidy? TIA

You usually get 50 hours per child (I have the boys booked in for 47.5 hours each week). but I am unsure about the CDA sorry.

Is the 9 hours subsidised only available to a certain income bracket or can anyone apply?

Our little one is 17 months old. I work fulltime and my partner is a stay-at-home dad but she is in daycare 2 days a week.

I think everyone can get the 9 hours Azza.

We didn't worry about the bonus, and then at the last reassessment, our subsidy was dropped on us after supplying them with our payslips etc. Luckily, we only had to repay $13 (it only affected one week). I don't want a bonus to affect the next 6 months if we're only in that subsidy bracket by a matter of dollars.

Argh, WFF. Much like the situation of heaps of people here, we got a tax bill for that one, even after switching the payments to annually a LONG time ago.

ETA: since Ashlee was in daycare beginning May last year, we have bounced around the 3 subsidy brackets so much! It almost doesn't even seem worth the hassle for just over a dollar. Anyway, by the time it's sorted, she'll qualify for the free hours! Hahaha
