Eczema?

I use Bod for Bubs Bubbaloo Miracle Dry Skin Balm (am gutted to have found it online for $20 after I spent $30 on it )all over, sorbolene if patches get a bit nasty and if it is really nasty, pimafucort which I get on prescription - it's .5% hydrocortisone with an anti fungal, but I use it sparingly and only on the worst patches.

Is exczema a fungal infection?????

I use Lemnis Fatty cream on Benjy. Seems to clear it up super-quick.

Eczema is not a fungal infection, it's just like being prone to dry skin. As far as I understand, it's something that's in your genes.. there's different types of eczema though.

I have atopic eczema, which means my skin doesn't have the necessary oils so it goes really dry and itchy. Sometimes it's grown out of, but there's nothing you can do to "cure" it. Just gotta keep moisturing hardout and using something with hydrocortisone to heal really bad patches.

Aqueous cream is really good, you can use it as a cream and as a soap substitute. You can get it on prescription from your doc for something like $3 for a huge tub.

Also be careful about bathing him for a long time - just like when you wash an oily pan with hot soapy water, it draws the oil right out of it. Same with skin. Even if you put bath oils in, it's coming out at the same time!! If that makes sense.. that's what my doc told me anyway..

Other types of eczema can be caused (or made to flare up) from certain types of food, like dairy. It could also be worth in to looking at your laundy powder if you're not using Persil Sensitive.

I recommend going to see your doc about it though, maybe even just mention it next time you're in.

It sounds like what I have. It's also made worse with the change in season. Do you have asthma or hayfever? They often go hand in hand.

I'm the same, itching myself at night. Drives DH insane. He gives me a little slap to make me stop!! He doesn't seem to understand how gosh darn itchy it is (thinks it's mind over matter), but since using the creams hardout it is better.

I get it on my hands too and it's made worse from doing dishes (the hot soapy water) and just from washing my hands often. I've started moisturing hardout every time I wash them. Also I got it bad under my rings cos of a build-up of soap under there, and had to leave them off for a while so it could heal.

I have it, and Jake has it mildly. I've just been using J and J's lavender bed time moisteriser, or failing that anyhting with lavender and or chamomille in it, I find it takes the sting out of it. And, there was an interesting thread a while ago about urine. And I can say Yep, gross, but it so works, I had it really really bad on my feet....HAD it, notice I said, don't have much bother with it now, only when I wear cheap shoes, then I know what to do...

Eczema isn't fungal but gets bacteria in it which causes more itching which then causes it to spread and itch more... etc etc

So if it is looking even slightly infected, I'd get it seen to as it can do horrible things. (Han's was sooo bad at one point! I felt terrible!)

That yellow stuff in a green container is called Pinetarsel
