i was feeding mikey a couple of days ago and he bit me, really hard!! sure, he has to wait til he has teeth to start the biting thing. he even made my nipple bleed!
i screamed so loud that he got a fright and started crying.
now it got infected and it's starting to get a tiny bit of pus in it(TMI) my wee monster has poisonous teeth!
just wondering, does anyone know if i should stop feeding him on that side until it's stopped being infected?
I don't know about bite wounds, but I know when you have mastitis or a breast infection they tell you to keep feeding to work it thru.
But if it is your nipple that is infected then you'd think giving it a rest to heal would be best.
Hmmmm, I'm not much help am I

yea i was thinking it might be good to give it a rest. maybe this will be the start of the weaning process. i'm really hoping to have mikey weaned by the time my 21st birthday comes around in feb. he may have other ideas though lol.
...I know how it feels Ella. Zaara does bite me (she has no teeth) and it hurts like hell...I scream too but Zaara just thinks that its funny! However I never bleed or had an infection....May be see a doc.
Sounds painful .....all in the name of breastfeeding huh? I dont think Zaara will ever stop B/F. I went to a family thing on Sat and Zaara crawled up to me and started patting me on my boob and saying MILK MILK (in hindi)...I was so ...my babies first word is MILK!!!
OWW! When hannah bit me (no teeth tho) I tried not to react, said NO and took her off for a while. She pretty quickly learnt that if she bit she didnt get fed - oh tough mummy!
yeah, i've heard that you're not supposed to react because then they keep doing it but it was such a shock and it HURT! i just couldn't help it.
ah well, he hasn't done it since then so maybe he's learnt not to.
i pretty much didn't do anything to it and just kept it clean and now it's almost all cleared up.
and there's still no repetition on the biting front which i am immensly pleased about
