Topic: Can I get some sleep PLEASE! Posted: 26 October 2007 at 1:51pm |
I had THE worst sleep last night (if you could say I even got any sleep) - thanks to my 3 children!
I was soo tired all yesterday & strictly told myself I'd have an early night - none of this staying up til after 10pm on the net (mostly on OB ). So 9pm rolled around & I was going off to bed, but DH was watching Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader (american version) & said it was where one guy won the 1 million. So I thought I'd stay up & watch it. Well, it wasn't that one at all! So went to bed after 9:30pm, only to toss & turn trying to get comfy.
I think I drifted off to sleep, only to be woken by Gia coming into our bed. I got up & put her back into her own bed then tried going back to sleep. Took a while, but think I managed too, only to once again have Gia coming into our bed - around midnight I'm thinking. I left her there, tried going back to sleep. Next thing Rico is standing next to the bed saying he needed another nappy on - he'd wet his one. So, put Rico's nappy on (note to self: must buy pull-ups that he can put on himself!) then he goes off back to bed. Again, go back to sleep to then hear Rico coughing outside our door. GRRRRRR! By this time I'm also getting fed-up with Gia's feet being in my back. I get up to see what Rico's deal is - he quickly walks back to his room & gets into bed. I tuck him in & decide it's time for me to try getting some sleep on the couch. I set up the couch & then hear Rico crying from his bedroom. I call out for him to GO TO SLEEP!! Silence. It's around 1am. I then think how glad I am that Jett sleeps through the night. Next thing, Gia has come out of our room & wants to sleep on the couch with me - NO WAY! Put her back in our bed (i'd grabbed the blankets off her bed for me on the couch). Then Rico is standing in the hallway - GO BACK TO BED RICO!! I call out. I'm beside myself now - 1:40am - NO friggin sleep!
THEN! I hear Jett making his "I want a feed" snuffly noises. Dammit - of all nights he decides to wake! I leave him, HOPING he'll go back to sleep - no such luck. He starts to cry after about 10 mins. I get him up & feed him one side, put him back to bed. I go back to the couch & FINALLY manage to get into a nice deep sleep. But it's not to be for long - Jett wakes AGAIN! It's 4:30am - only been asleep 1.5 hrs. I get him up & feed him on the couch. Then I hear Dh come out of our room carrying Gia - he walks past me saying she's snoring in his ear. I tell him I have her blankets. He puts her in bed with Rico (he has a queen sz bed). He then goes to the toilet & comes back out & asks if I want to watch a movie!! HAHA - ummm, NO! I say I've had no sleep - need to get some. It's 5am & Jett is back in bed, Gia's outta our bed, so I go back into it. Yay - finally I can get another couple of hours sleep. Jett wakes at 7:20am. Rico & Gia are up. The day begins!
WHAT A SH*T night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aww mate, that sux. if it makes ya feel better I had one the same last nite, J wouldn't go to bed till 9.30, then was up and down screaming every 15 mins from 1am till I caved in and put him in bed with me (I was in spare as DH sleeping)so he tossed, turned, scratched and talked till 4am where I was in tears beggin him to go to sleep. DH takes him in bed with him and the little $! went STRAIGHT TO SLEEP. Then up for the day (both of em) at 6.30am, cheery as...

I was beginning to wonder what I'd put in our dinner in order for all of us to keep waking up. For a start I couldn't get to sleep, I'm finding my bed "boring" to sleep in at the moment - can't get comfy in it most nights. And it's not like I'm sleeping TOO much in it either! I think I'm missing our other bed. We're not using it as we're renting the IL's house in which they've left their furniture in it, so we sleep in their king-size bed which is comfy enough, but our queen bed was the best bed ever!!!

Well I second the Iron that is a big thing for me when I am tired. But I have these wonder pills that put me too sleep so I just take one of them when I have sleep issues (like last week when I didn't sleep for 48 odd hours straight).

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

You poor thing, I so know how you feel. Caprece has been waking every 1-2 hours all night for the past week and then Jack wakes once or twice too so not a lot of sleep goes on here.

I had a friend coming to visit this morning so couldn't even try & sleep in & catch up. But I wasn't feeling too bad considering. I should be in bed now - but OB's got a strong pull & I can't resist!
Rico is normally fine during the night, never see/hear from him, but Gia is in a bad habit of coming into our bed. I try to get up & put her straight back into her bed, but doesn't happen all the time. But being woken from her just coming in, is a BIG nuisance!
It's been great now that Jett is sleeping through til at least 5.30am, but like I said - even he woke twice last night.
HERE'S HOPING FOR A BETTER NIGHT FOR US ALL!!
I'm wanting to play paint-ball tomorrow with a few friends so NEED energy for that!

Oh yeah, I really need to start taking my iron again too, think it definitely helps! I'm silly & get lazy & don't take it, but my body is suffering for it.

Yay slept much better! Rico ended up staying at my mums so Dh slept in his bed. So I had our bed to myself. Jett did wake at 3:30 though, then at 6:45. But otherwise I wasn't disturbed by anyone else! yay!
Yeah that's Jett in my signature pic. He's a very alert boy who loves to talk & smile!!

Glad to hear that last nights sleep was relatively unbroken. Makes all the difference when you can catch some zzzs doesn't it. Crikey, paintball - how did that go?

OMG it was soo much fun! HARD THOUGH! It was in bush, so running up & down the hill, I'M SOOO UNFIT! Can't say running around after 3 children has kept me fit at all!
I managed to hit a couple of guys, then I got hit on the shoulder, so had to go back to base & whilst I was on my way to hide I was shot again from behind on my leg & BUGGER it hurt! So back to base for me again, then decided I couldn't walk up the hill again, it was really steep & slippery & my legs were like jelly. My mask was fogging up as well so it was hard to see & I was too scared to get hit again, so piked out & stayed at base the rest of the time. So managed half a game.
Wanna see my war wound?!
I would love to play again, but on a different course - one that's flat & has obstacles you can hide behind. It was fun just being out with the guys!

All 3 kids woke again last night - what is up with this?!!!
Gia came in twice before midnight, I put her in bed with Rico - she still came back into us. So back into her bed again with a strict telling off! Then Rico came in wanting another nappy put on Grrrr! Told him just to put undies on & GO BACK TO BED! Next thing he's in our room using our toilet saying he wanted to go poo's! Who goes poo's that time of the night?!
That was when Jett was waking - 1am! Too too early for him, but my boobs were REALLY full & so sore so didn't mind him waking. He then woke again at 5am, then 8am. And Gia ended up in our bed again around 5:30am.
Just as well the sun is shining today & it's SUNDAY !
