We have a golden lab and dark carpet in the living areas where he is allowed. We have black long haired cats and light carpets in the rest of the house and they leave nice clumps of fur there.
Before Jake I could deal with and vacummed on the weekends as I didnt care when I was at work. Now it drives me nuts and I vacuum daily.
Agree on the washing, although we do this every 3 months unless he gets mucky and brushing regularily. We hadnt brushed him for ages and DH did it on the weekend.. could have made a cushion with all the fur!
