sucks!
en route to hairdresser tonight i stopped and got a frozen coffee...then drove to hairdressers...guy pulls out in front of car and does U turn - slammed on brakes to avoid...cup holder in console but cup went flying direct dumping into the gearstick and surrounds...
I grabbed Ellas towel when I was able to stop and soaked as much up as possible...loked fine just bit sticky! was at hairdressers so went in and came out...
Car started but could NOT move the gear stick...NO way NO how!!! Called DH - apparently I should have HIT the other car!!! He en route - so I called free service people...first time they have ever heard this story apparently...really?
DH arrives...I calmly listen to him rant...which Ps him off more...apparently I should be over the top about the transmission or something I have no idea of????
Service man arrives and saves the day - or so i hoped....he figures out eventually that it is the fact that the microchip got wet or something...anyhow can override it to drive it...you have to press a button or something so DH drives it home....but now have to get it fixed as cannot drive it!!!
Funny thing tho...and DH doesnt know this....Serviceman was a guy I dated when I was 15!!!! LOL he has grown into that huge nose of his too!!! I think he recognised me but neither of us said anything...air was kinda tense by time he got there....
this was the ONLY funny thing....I am sooooo P off at DH right now...he wants a HUG I want some understanding that I am upset ........arrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!
my Life officially sucks!!!!!!!!!

I am annoyed at his attitude, annoyed at such a simpll thing causing grief to my car....and upset thatmy rellaxing chilling out evening was ruined...

Oh man. When things are bad they're really bad but hey - maybe you're getting it all out of the way in one go so that rest of 2008 will be a super-fabulous year. Better buy a lotto incase it's time for your luck to turn.

Ugh don't you hate it when a morning cuppa causes grief - I've had all sorts of coffee "spill" incidents but nothing as bad as you. Big hugs

Fiona - gloria jeans frozen choc mint bomb.....I love them...and had only just bought it so wasted $5 too!!! Damn old men doing u turns where they arent meant to!
argh! HE is driving my car today now cause I am too scared to drive it and try to do the override button all the time....have to wait til mon to see if they can fix it....his holden cost $18000 for new transmission on a new car (uuder warranty) but am hoping this is NOWHERE near that! cause NO warranty cover on this type of accident i guess....mmaybe i should have hit some other car....

So sorry to hear about this BS, I am really glad to hear however, that at least crazy U turning man didn't injure you with his antics.
One big hug from us, and I hope that the transmission isn't totally poked. Fingers crossed for monday.

Wow thats a huge amount for a transmission. We shopped around and Bens holden cost around $1500 but hopefully yours doesn't need replacing.

well having spent most of the day having DH bleat on about it we rang tower...and guess what....they are going to cover it....it is termed accidental loss and damage!!! YIPPPEEEEE
the girl on phone sounded soooo sympathetic and understood about having a coffee in the car....
We have to get the car towed on monday to dealer service centre to get repaired....but they are going to cover that too. DH drove it this am and ALL lights everywhere came on and he couldnt get it out of the override 1st gear...UGH!
RachandJack - DHs was a brand new sv6 holden and it was a holden fault so luckily covered by them BUT cost Holden $18000 - so of course DH remembers THAT doesnt he!!! DOH!
