    Posted: 12 January 2008 at 9:03pm

I'm one week into me being a single mum and so far i have enjoyed myself. I don't know if it is because I have been so busy to think about it.

I have found the nights a bit hard (well the past few i've had my sister with me) as I haven't had that adult company and i've been on here all night long.

DH had his phone and then it got taken off them and then got given back and I just got a txt to say they are being taken off them till the 16th of Feb now. He has had 6 people pull out from his platoon already (for alsorts of reasons) and was thinking about it himself on Thursday night. He is the only one there out of 70 odd people with children so noone else knows what it feels like to leave their children for so long. His cousin is up there as one of the staff and he had a chat to him on Thursday night about staying and how it is 6 weeks of hard work for 20 years of a good life.

His cousin rung his wife and she rang me to let me know what was happening. And even thou they have now lost their phones DH will be able to talk to me next weekend as his cousin has his platoon all weekend and hes going to arrange a phone call home.

Me and the boys will settle back into our routine next week as Andrew starts preschool again so hopefully I don't miss him too much over the next month and 3 days.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

aww I'm glad to hear you are enjoying it (well as much as you can I'm sure)

How come he gets his phone taken off him?

I hope the rest of the time goes as fast as possible and your DH does well.

Becks, Dh has decided he is keen on entering the policr force - 5 months at Porirua!!!! but at least they get most weekends off - bit scared i'll enjoy being a single mum more - less "children" to clean up after!

glad to hear things are going okay. I'm kinda used to being alone at night as DH works nights now - good chance to watch girlie movies that huibbys scoff at - may be watching dirty dancing later. Watched sound of music the other day.

They have had their phones taken off them so they can concentrate on their training.

I know I am enjoying watching E channel and Vibe without him complaining.
