What about painting? I know it sounds creative, but doesn't have to be. Find a picture that you want to paint for Ethan's room through kids colouring in pages. Cut around it and stick onto a canvas from the $2 Shop. Then get some reasonable paintys (not $2shop - you need thick acrylics), and paint over the paper and voila! you have a neat pictyure for the wall!

Or get a stencil from the internet like I did and blow it up.. then cut it out with a craft knife and paint through the stencil onto canvas.

I love scrapbooking too. $2 shop has some GREAT scrapbooking stuff. Bought a whole heap of neat Christmas stickers to make cards with.

I find I get bored with cross-stitch really easily, but then found long-stitch. It's a lot easier and faster, and you can get beginner kits from Spotlight that are in some really neat, bright kiddy designs.

And congrats for quitting smoking

good on you for quitting smoking!!! well done

how about putting photos in of Ethan to a baby book, etc...also are photos lying around that you need to put in albums...start simple and get inspired by there...i have kinda of purpose left a few wedding things in a pile to get onto when im off work with bubs...photos, etc..mainly...
get creative from what inspires you...see if there are some classes of differnt things in your area to attend without outlaying a lot of money - scrapbooking can be really expensive!

Daniels dad quit about 6-8 years ago and he told me that no the urge doesn't go away but you know how much it costs etc and you learn to just ingore it. I have tried one since quitting the it was tasted like the smell of an ash tray. I don't even remember why i started or what i liked about it but then i got addicted and didn't even realise.

I haven't had the urge to smoke and i've been smokefree for just over 1 year now. I find the smell so gross at the moment and it makes me quite sick. How knows what it will be like when I finish breast feeding this one. One thing that makes me not want to smoke is the cost - I don't think you can get a packet of smokes now for under $10. When I gave up I was smoking B&H (expensive ones) at $9.65 for a pack of 20's and $11.10 for 25's, a packet every 2-3 days was costing $9.65 x 3 = nearly $30 a week and I now use that money on baby stuff so that is 3 bags of nappies a week it so adds up. - Sorry to hijack again.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Well done for quitting!! I've been smoke free for several years now and I must admit, the smell makes me so sick!! I haven't had the urge to smoke in as long as I can remember...thank goodness! I also wonder why on earth I started!!!

Don't really have much to add to the hobbies, I read lots, addicted to forums and have also started scrapbooking...all good hobbies! Haven't picked up my cross stitch in a while but I have several Winnie the Pooh small cross stitches to do.

I presume I'm allowed to post it? I spend time on the Nappy Network - as we're using cloth nappies full time now it's great for getting advice etc.

There is the ones on Treasure and Huggies websites (I find these spec the Huggies are very competitive - my baby did this before he was meant to by milestones) I don't spend much time on them and you can't talk about anyother nappy other than theirs. I'm still on my wedding one (nzwp) not as much now but as there are a few woman getting married in this wedding season that were on during my wedding season it is nice to still talk with them and really just waiting for their weddings to be over and down with to see the pics.
