just came back from a walk down the road. All neighbours garden sheds, glasshouses etc etc have been smashed. A pohutukawa tree (big tree) is fallen over. Its gone in between 2 houses so lucky no damage there. also other ppls tv arials all off. and this wind is still so wicked. The spray from the water is going about 4 stories up in the air.

We had no power from about 2.30 yesterday, and it seemed to come back on about midnight last night... Lost a very large branch off a Totara tree and blew a makeshift shed over, but other than that no major problems. Weather is alot clearer here today, hope it stays that way!

Wow what a few days we have had . we got off pretty lucky in Tikipunga . there are a few trees blown down , and signs blown over .we managed to to keep our roof on .... for a while then on sheet of iron decided it really wanted to fly , so there i was outside in the cold wet night holding the ladder so DP could nail the sheet back down , and thankfully it stayed there the rest of the night .

Yesterday morning we got up and DP wanted a shower but we had no hot water , the lovely power company turned the hot water off in my street , Thank goodness we have a mate the is a sparky who came and bypassed our meter box so we could have hot water .

Through out it all my little pumpkin either sleeps or played in the lounge unaware of what was going on with the weather .
