Lauren didn't walk till 15 months, I thought she was never going too!
She is very tall though so I guess she's got alot further to fall! She was a very fast crawler though, so no need to walk!! She lives life on the edge with all her climbing antics |

I think your more likely to hear early stories than late ones. Anyway the average age for walking is 13 months so for every kid that walks before 13 theres one that walks after.
I am such a slack mother I can hardly remember when my kids did stuff. I think Jack was 11 months when he walked and that was very encouraged. Caprece was about 15 or 16 months I think but she wasn't really encouraged like Jack was. Shes a lot more vocal than Jack was although at the moment pretty much every word she says is no.

Really by the age of 5 kids are pretty even in that they can walk, talk, jump etc. Early babies aren't proven to be any smarter or better at sports than later babies so don't worry too much.

I was about to say exactly the same thing!!
... and yep developmental norms say 12-13months for walking with a range of 6 months either side...
I had one early walker (DD2) at tens months and one "average" on 1st birthday Cognitively they are much more prepared for walking at 12 months + so less stressful |

Maya crawled at 8 mths, was pulling up from 7.5 mths and cruising the furniture and walked properly at 10 mths.
Gremlins didn't even move till 10 mths, and walked somewhere between 13 and 14 mths, probably closer to 14.

Lil miss was 9 mths yesterday and she is headed into first steps territory, she's standing on her own and too bloody confident for her own good, her fave thing to do is to push her toys around the floor, right now she's dancing behind her Noah's Ark and pushing it around. She's had very little encouragement from us (I wanted my baby to stay little for just a wee bit longer!) but I think having 3 big sisters is encouragement enough.

Chiara sounds like Caden, he pushes his toys around the floor as well, and stands up on his own and "dances" lol, like bouncing up and down. We did very little to encourage him as well, just let him do things at his pace, now when he stands up we will hold our arms out to him and he will take a few steps towards us, he is starting to stand up and take steps with out us holding our arms out too.
Caden has always been a very strong wee boy, right from day 1 he could hold his head up himself quite well, the midwives and doctors were quite surprised lol.

Rowan is almost 16 months and loves walking with us holding her hands ('walk! walk!' is her catchcry at the moment) but she can't stand up on her own let alone walk on her own yet. She started crawling at 12 months.
Having said that she's more advanced than a lot of babies vocally so I guess that's what she's focusing on at the moment.

DD walked alone at 15mths. She talks a lot and my plunket nurse did say they often focus on either movement or language.
She commando crawled from 8 mths, and didn't crawl on all 4s until after her first birthday. She pulled herself up and cruised furniture for a long time before walking.
ETA - ha ha she has just brought me her coat, hat and shoes - what is she trying to say?

Ha ha, the gremlins didn't talk or walk - they must be really slow Funny thing tho - they were nearly 4 mths later than Maya walking, yet now they are far more active an co-ordinated than she is.
