You get an individual room at CWH after having a baby, you only have to share when in there for ante natal care.

There is no government funding for enthastists (?) at birthing units and also a serious lack of them up and down the country so more a government issue than an annoying rule.

I was exactly the same as you Kawwwww. Very worried about the whole transfer thing in the middle of the night. As it was I didnt transfer and got 8 days at CWH and I found them brilliant!!!

But....I dont think transferring would have been too bad either as

a) you have to move even if you stay at CWH...you have to get cleaned up, change beds and move up to the 5th floor.

b) you dont think about anything other than your baby

c) you wont feel tired....too much adrenalin. Tiredness kicks in a little later

d)by the time you get to your location and settle in you will finally be coming down off the highest of highs and ready to get to know your baby.

Also...if I had transferred it would have been in the evening. I thought all babies arrived in the middle of the night. My labour started at midnight but Tom arrived at 6pm

Trust me.....it will be ok on the day/night
