The tornado in Botany was actually in my teeny-weeny community, Golflands -- I was working in the city and didn't hear about it til I got home! DH's cousin lives two streets over from us and had 1/4 of his roof tiles ripped off. The tornado was strong enough to lift up our patio umbrella (which weighs about 30kg) and send it about 5 from the deck -- thank goodness our yard is fenced, or it would have been through the neighbour's kitchen window!

well today is a lovely day compared to yesterday - although as I type it is clouding over and turning cold again...

Peace - No its never cold here in central taranaki!!! You have to be hard to live here. Thats what you get for living on a mountain.

yes got all my washing out on the line this morning but thinking I may have to bring it in soon.

Deborah, good on your DH, I admire the firemen so much (and policemen too BTY) to do a job that is high risk to help all us "normal" people out there, but the volenteer workers are something else again. Thats awesome.
