A couple of weeks ago I developed a small lump in my ear (if you poke your finger in, it's right there at the back). It was painful to touch but if I ignored it, no probs, so I left it alone and it hasn't got bigger or smaller or anything.
But yesterday I touched it and that whole part of the ear canal (feels like "the end") is tender. I used a cotton bud just to check it was all clean in there (it was), bumped the end with the cotton bud and it hurt! And I know it's not supposed to hurt there. It feels like there is a build-up of pressure behind there.
My DH is convinced it's an ear pimple. I'm not so sure, but I'm not keen to make an appointment to see a Doc this week just to pa $$$ to hear "yes it's a pimple and it'll go away by itself"!
I have no discharge, DH can't see anything in there (no redness etc), and I don't have/haven't had a cold. Ideas?
Hmmmm I had a sore ear a little while ago (killer pain - enough for nurofen) and after I stopped poking things in it... it seemed to fix itself!
So perhaps don't poke anything else in there for a few days... and if it is still hurting after that - see a Doc. Of course, if you develop any other symptoms like fever etc then I'd be straight off to the doc.
(Well, this is just me of course... I'm one of those types who pushes bruises just to check if they hurt and then whinges about it for the rest of the day)
I had this and it turned out to be an ear infection that i was making worse by scratching and poking and proding! just got some antibiotics and ear drops and all was good again!
