Emz that has happened in some barracks in Waiouru. And later on it came out that a guy was shot in there by another solider and it was confirmed a few years ago on the news (something about compensation and saying sorry to the family).

a few stories from me
when my mum was a kid she lived in a big english home and oneday her perends went out leaving all six kids at home, they all hurd foot steps coming from the attick walking around and it got realy loud, one of the boys went up to look and he found a pair of boots just stiiing there!!!!
and when i was 2 my uncle just died and no one had told me yet and i sat up the top of the stairs an said ucles just got up to heaven and pointed upwords!!!
my lil sis was about 6 and she told me that she couldint sleep because the lil boy in the window was scairing her, i went to cheak and nothing was there!!!!
and the most reacent one is that mila woke up at 2 in the moring screaming so i took her to my bed down stairs at my mums place and she kept stairing into one spot and she looked quite scaired she didint make a sound or move for at least half an hour exept for about twice where she pointed her hand at it, so i looked into her eyes at what she was looking at and i saw a black smokey mist right over the bed i kept looking around at what it could be but nothing in the room recembled what i was seing in her eyes i kept the lights on all night. even my older sis has been down in that room and all three of those touch lights have turnd on and off at the same time!!!!

Wow Chonni those experiences are very strange.
I just wanted to add, that when I get up at night, I can't look at the windows and I can't look at the mirrors, I'm terrified that there will be something there that will look back at me.
Last night I got up half asleep to go to the toilet, and when I was walking back to my room, I thought I saw someone sitting in the computer chair, I saw a body shape and a head, I moved pretty damn quickly to my room after that. I think it was mind playing tricks though, this house is pretty "clean".

A few stories from me.
When I was about nine I was staying with a friend and I had been asleep and gotten up to go to the bathroom... and as I was coming back I saw a lady dressed in a red gown and thought nothing of it... but when I got up in the morning and asked who was awake in the middle of the night and wearing a red gown.... everyone looked stunned and someone told me that it was a spiritual entity that had been around that family for some time
My partner didn't want me to go out to the washing line late at night because we had no outside light and he was afraid something might happen.... I disobeyed and ended up getting chased by some kind of shadowy figures down our garden path

Mel, did you watch the Ghost Whisperer episode on Bloody Mary?
I always make sure my curtains are closed when it gets dark but that's only because I've had a stalker before (when I first went flatting) and the idea that people can look in and see me but I can't see them freaks me out.

I'm exactly the same .Mel! Can't look in the mirrors or out the window, if i have to get up I don't look anywhere - only at the floor!
and quite a few times now I've woken up in the middle of the night and sworn I saw a shadowy figure standing there, once it was in the corner between my bedside table and the wall and the other few times was in the other corner on my side of the bed..once I even woke DF up and "can you see that? There's someone there"...he just thought I was talking in my sleep but it seemed bloody real to me!

You've reminded me. After my fur baby died I was devastated (I took a few days off work I was so upset). The first night after she died we didn't got to bed until really really late and then when I awoke in the morning I got so excited because I could feel her weight on my feet, where she used to sleep.
I wonder if it was just a memory of her - my sleepy body playing tricks on me, like when people who have lost limbs feel an itch on a part of their limb that isn't there anymore.

Conor and I stayed at a friends place one night, he slept in his portacot in the spare room, and I slept in the other room... during the night he woke up really upset, I got him up and got a drink, I could hear footsteps in the hallway and when I went to look, there was no one there, he spent the rest of the night in bed with me... there was an odd cold feeling in the hallway. In the morning I mentioned to my friend about the footsteps, and she said she'd heard them before, but didn't think they'd come that night because her flatmate wasn't there.... it turned out it was the flatmates grandfather!! They got the house cleansed and then moved out!!!

Im glad Im not the only one that wont look at windows or mirrors at night and I havways had to have my wardrobe locked at night. I cant even stand the tiniest bit of window showing through the curtains.
Oh and I remember the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. I woke up one night freaking out because I thought there was a midgit running around the room. After waking up properly and able to think clearer I remember I have a little daughter so just assumed it was her. I enenutally managed to convince to turn on his bed side light so I could go get her and put her back to bed, and found her still in bed exactly as i left her... strange. I think I may just have an overactive imagination though

I don't like having wardrobes or cupboards open either and I always used to check under beds (although that has more to do with living intruders rather than ghosts).
When DH started travelling a lot for work, leaving me at home alone, I would go and check every single room and ensure all the doors and windows were locked before going to bed. One night I heard a door upstairs slam and I was so freaked out, I called DH and kept him on the phone with me while I checked the house (holding the vacuum cleaner pole ). There was nothing there and since we lived in a townhouse with crappy soundproofing it's likely it came from next door.
TBH I think I've become a lot braver about that sort of thing since Michaela was born, especially now it's just me and her at home alone every night until 10:30pm. I think the saying is something along the lines that you should never get between a lioness and her cubs and that's definitely the case for me.

I live by the 3 strikes rule... if I'm home alone with the kids and I hear the same noise 3 times, then I'll get up and investigate, otherwise I stay where I am and hope for the best...

Ok another creeeepy story from me..
About 11 or 12 years ago, I used to live inthis old villa with a couple. Now, she was fairly firey, great chick, but did they have some rows. Anyhow, he worked shifts and one night, about 2am I head this loud as talking coming from the lounge. I also needed to go to the toilet, and to get to the loo, you had to go through the lounge. I didn't want to interupt their row or whatever, but I was busting, so I go creeping in to the lounge nd its the Tele making all thenoise, no one there. it had been turned on (it was an old dial tv, not a remote one) and the volume was up full blast. Freaked,I went to the loo, stuck my head in Jo's room to see if she was awake, and no, she was asleep, and alone, reece was still at work and ran back to my bedroom, and when I jumped back into bed, my fan heater turned its self on, this is the fan heater that was un plugged and moved away from the socket as it did this frequently.... I also saw an onld fashioned lady with a bonnet on in my room one night, all in grey. My room was the old lounge. *shudder*

OK I really have got to stop reading this thread but I cant help it! I had the worst sleep last night and when i did i had nightmares and kept waking up and freaking out.
I showed my partner the photo and without even seeing the boy between the legs he said he had goosebumps from it. I hadnt said anything about it either, just that he should look at it.
I have to turn the TV off when there is ghost stories on, even though they fascinate me i also get scared sh#tless . Way over active imagination here!!!

ohh thats creepy!!!
Im the same mojo, didnt really think about it till you just said that though.
i used to be such a wuss and would hide under my blankets if i got scared. Id jump at shadows and rarely get out of my bed at night and if i did i turned the light on. Any little noise would freak me out lol.
But since having Briahna im much calmer and can get up without the light on. I still get my scaredy cat moments but thats pretty rare nowadays!
