   Just a random curious question
is contraction pain the same for everyone , not necessarily WHERE it is , but is contraction pain pretty much the same , or can it feel different from woman to woman ?

With C it felt like I was being squeezed and like someone was standing inside me , pulling the inside of my stomach .

what did yours feel like ?

I think it can be very different for everyone. My best mate said it is just like bad period pain. I found it just felt exactly like my cervix was being stretched open. I felt my tummy go tight first, like being squeezed, then came the intense cervix pain.
I was induced with the gel though, so maybe that changes things?

My contractions felt like somebody had thrown a lead weight at me, knee buckling, winded, and also like I had to poo (IYKWIM the feeling when you're constipated for a couple of days and you get all clogged up and HAVE to go but can't, and you get the cramps in your tummy)

This time is was like someone had hold of the skin/muscles/everything in a line below my belly button & was ripping it apart. I had my hand on there to make sure it wasn't last time it was nothing like that, backache pain & the contractions had a real rise & fall to them.

i had period pains but they came and went. They were exactly like having my period (though i have extremely painful periods). I remember saying to mum that its better than having my period cuz i get a break between them lol. Pain through my lower abdomen and lower back. But this only started after my waters had broken 6hours before so it wasnt how my labour started

I guess its different for everyone...
I cant really remember what it felt like, only that it hurt like a mother!! lol
The pain was all in my lower bump and dragged round to my back as Caden was posterior.

I was induced and the first 7 hours or so was just period pain that got worse through the day. Then it changed to tight cramping in my lower tummy and back and it stayed like that until the broke my waters 19 hours later and within half an hour it hurt like a mother and no words can describe it. But I will try, kind of like something was ripping my stomach open from the inside and someone had tied ropes around my abodomen and was pulling as hard as they could to try and squeeze said thing out all at the same time.
Thinking back, the midwives must have been quietly laughing at me "practising" my breathing through those early contractions..

Man I hope I have one of those painless labours next time round!

Okay for me with M it went totally rock hard. The pain started out slow and then would intensify and then start to get easier again. It wasnt the same intensity straigh through but would peak and then go down again.
Me thought it was Braxton Hixt contractions as I didnt get it before. This time I am getting loads of Braxton Hixt contractions.

With M I also felt like a knive was being pushed from the inside through my pubic bones. However it was her head been presented wrong and the contractions trying to push her down and it was just not happening. That is why it landed up being an c-section.

For me they would start with really intense AF like cramps that got worse and worse which would be combined with what felt like someone with a belt around the inside of my stomach being tightened more and more.

I felt all the pain in my tailbone and just tightening of the tummy. Lauren was posterior so thats probably why I didn't get much pain in the belly department.
Pain in my back was so not what I was expecting labour would be like!! I still don't really "get" why I didn't feel much in my tummy Sorry didn't really answer your question did I?! I think contractions would feel different from women to women I would imagine especially since we all have such differing pain tolerance levels. Just a thought anyway...

Mine were like period cramps but my belly didn't go rock hard like in BHs until quite near the end. Thats how I knew it was labour and not BH the second time around.
