I think Im finally looking old, lol! The 2 times Ive bought beer at the supermarket for DH in recent weeks I havent been asked for ID, when I normally am always asked, and have often been asked for ID buying instant kiwis too! Have noticed when Im with Isla I dont get asked as much, and both those recent times at the supermarket Ive had Isla with me, plus Im very very preg!
I feel like I so dont look under 18, its rediculous,...Im 30 next week!

lol i think the last 2 times have probably been because you're so pregnant. people just sort of assume that if you're pregnant then you are over 18 (no idea why), when i was hugely pregnant, i never got asked either.

I got asked once when I had my four year old and my 6 month old with me! The girl had to call the supervisor cause she was too young to put it through and the supervisor said to her 'did you check her ID?' and she said no, the supervisor said quietly 'she could easily have had her first child when she was 14' I was gobsmacked! Not only did I look like I was only 18, but I looked like the kind of person who started having babies at a very young age?? lol

lol kali1, that's so funny! i wouldn't know whether to laugh or be offended.
i know what it's like for them though, i used to work as a checkout chick when i was younger and i used to get some people who got really quite aggro when i asked them for ID. sometimes if the person looked really scary i just wouldn't bother lol.

The law for retailers is that if somebody looks younger then 25, they must ask for ID.
I wish somebody would ID me...

lol rach, lets just pretend that the reason is because we're looking real young, that way we can feel good about ourselves.

I always get asked, even when buying Instant Kiwis...it's annoying!! All the girls at work couldn't believe I was 26, married and had children...apparently I don't look old enough ?!?!?!?! Kind of scary when I work with mainly 16/17 year olds!!!
Kali - I got asked for ID when I was about 25 weeks pregnant with the girls. I was in Woolworths in town with my MIL and bought a scratchie...she wouldn't sell it to me without showing her my ID. I was gobsmacked LOL

I am 28 and still get asked for ID and it totally annoys the hell out of me. Coming over the Oz at the duty free shop the woman looked at me and I think was going to ask for ID till I produced my military ID to get the discount she looked at it and went on her way.
When I started work in Waiouru the guys asked how old I was, I asked the to guess and they all thought I was around 22 - shocked them a bit I think.

Yeah I love it too, I always get asked and I am 33. I think it has a lot to do with being fairly short but also I don't really have any lines around my eyes. I think once you start getting the eye wrinkles that's when you look older. I reckon I am going to wake up one morning and have wrinkles for africa!
